I'm on my second year of BuJo. What I use: 1) Narrow-ruled journal that I picked up from Walmart. YOU'LL TAKE MY RULED PAPER OUT OF MY COLD DEAD HANDS. 2) A 4-ink Bic pen. (Blue, black, red and green) This is all I need for colour, thanks. 3) A Mechanical pencil. 4) A retractable pen-shaped eraser. 5) A ruler. I also use washi tapes (to separate each month) and translucent page markers (as I don't like highlighters). But these are indulgences, not essentials. Unless you're an artist/doodler, or seriously into calligraphy, there's no reason for all those markers, stamps, fancy pens, etc. As one BuJo'er put it, "A Bullet Journal is to organise your crap, not to make your crap look pretty."

My bullet journal isn’t fancy or super artistic. It is nice and simple and that makes it easier to use. My index is simple, my calendar is simple, my mood tracker is simple, etc. I use... 1) a cheap notebook 2) a some colored pens 3) washi tape 4) white-out. (In case) Mine doesn’t really have many drawings but that’s ok. It’s an organizer, to-do list, mood tracker, log, etc. it’s not meant to be pretty.

Am I the only one how is a kid that loves bullet journaling?

For me, my dotted journal and a unipin 0.1 is the only thing I need! I don't like the neat lines, or a lot of different lines (like 0.05, 0.2 and 0.7), and I also like to keep it simple! So even the essentials for you may not be the essentials for someone else. And this is totally fine! If you need more supplies than she mentioned, it is ok. If you need less, it is ok as well. The only rule of BuJo is making everything in the best way as possible for yourself. No one can say what you should and shouldn't do. I know that she made this video as a reference, but some people cam get lost with tons of different information that can be found in thousands of videos, so please guys of you are starting your BuJo, do it for YOU, with spreads and logs that fits you. If you are always in a rush, you don't need to draw in every single page, or even to draw at all. But if you like it and have time to do it, do it! ~please guys don't generalize or make a big deal of this, I just wrote it because I was in the same situation in the past~

I LOVE those felt tip pens, they write so smooth. But one thing I love using for my bullet journal are mid liners, they are just so pretty. And just a tip for everyone a dotted journal is the BEST way to start a bullet journal

Hey Noelle, you should mention the Exceed dotted journals that are available at Wal-Mart. From what I saw they have red, lime green, and black. I bought a black one and it’s comparable to a moleskine journal. I bought it for around $7 versus a almost $20 moleskine. I love my moleskine but I may eventually transfer to the Exceed journals.

I feel like my relationship to my BuJo is very healthy, though I wish I could use it more in my daily life, but my school is very digital, and my current BuJo is kind of heavy, so I don't bother dragging it with me everywhere. I'm also very afraid of losing it because it means a lot to me. My use of my BuJo varies a lot from time to time. Sometimes (often at the beginning and end of the school year) I use it as a planner. I make weeklies, dailies and/or monthlies depending on what's fitting. And they could either be done with effort or just really simple. I rarely use anything else than a mechanical pencil, even though I own many other supplies. In some periods I have used my BuJo more as a journal, and in others as mostly just a place for lists. I often just use it as a place to dump random poetic or lyrical sentences, words, phrases and such, and draw either something showing how I feel at the moment (an eye with tears if I'm sad etc.) or just something random. Because I ultimately use my BuJo as a place to be creative in my hectic everyday life. And if I'm really stressed or have a lot to think about and a lot to do, it also helpes me majorly with putting my life together while simultaneously giving me a chance to use my creativity and artistic abilities. And once again, I hardly use any supplies. My journal is one I picked up at my local bookshop. It is an A5 and about an inch thick. The paper is good quality, but completely blank (I like having complete freedom. I sort feel very restricted by both lines and grid and dot grid paper). I draw a good amount of lines for my spreads, but rarely use a ruler. I also hardly ever use a pen, only when the pencil isn't showing enough or I have to differenciate between two lines or the opportunity to erase something on top but without having to draw everything again is useful. I own a lot of brush markers, but lately I have only used them for other types of artwork or studying or coloring in one of my rare trackers (I recently started a sleep tracker which I have actually used both pens and brush markers in, because that was very practical) Even though I only use a pencil, I kind of make every page artsy-fartsy. I write the headers in different cool fonts and ways. I switch up how I make every monthly/weekly/daily. My weekly pages are very unique, but super easy and practical, if I shall say so myself. And I make different trackers aand often no trackers and I do different creative spreads in different ways. Before the summer I took an hour or so (usually I never use more than half an hour setting up my BuJo. Most spreads only take a couple of minutes) and made a kind of "Bucket list"-spread where I used coloured pencils and drew illustrative pictures for each thing or theme. E.g. I want to go to the Faroese Islands so I used the half of a page to draw a simple sheep and the Faroese flag and wrote "dra til færøyene"("go to the Faroese Islands") in a cool way with different colors. And now I used this as my BuJo. Bug my point is that you really only need a book and a pencil to make it both artsy, cute and functional. And you don't need to always make weekly spreads to continue using the BuJo.

The supplies i use are: ▪Colourful Brush Pens from my local craft store 12 pack ▪Nome permanent markers 24 pack from miniso ▪A pencil, Eraser, Sharpner ▪A simple Black dollar fineliner and a felt tip marker ▪ A lined college notebook ▪Clear tape ▪Ruler ▪Whitener tape ▪Sparkly 20 cents washi tape which I barely use ▪FaberCastelle coloured ballpoints ▪FaberCastelle colour pencils ▪ Simple and cheap felt tip markers ▪Stickers ▪ Highlighters For jotting down reminders i just take a page, Cover it neatly with clear tape and write my reminders on it with a dry erase marker cause the marker erases off the clear tape easily so i just erase the reminder when im done with that particular task

I just use the regular stuffs and make it my way. And im contented lol. You can do it too with just what u have. I believe in u!

Everyone's been posting their supplies lists, and it's so nice to see that not everyone is obsessed with the decorative part. Sure, it can be fun, but I figured out it takes away from the function. My supplies are: 1)A cheap dot grid notebook with a spiral, not bound. 2) Colored pens (2 per month) 3) A mini ruler 4) Washi tape That's it. And the washi tape I just use to set a color per month on the one decorative page I have. It's so much easier than markers and expensive notebooks and washi tape Despensers.

Things I bought: - Crayola Supertips - Stadler 72 felt tips - Stabilo 88 fine liners - Pentel Fude Touch brush pens - Frixon Erasable highlighters - Frixon Erasable planner stamps - One million rolls of washi tape (JKJK about 20, not just for bullet journalling tho) - Stickers - Glue pen - White out tape - Lihit lab Smart Fit Double Pen Case - New eraser (normally I use the Tombow Mono erasers, but there's this brand that's rlly hard to find and basically everyone in my class uses it so imma try it out :3) Honestly, I'm just a stationery hoarder, so you definitely don't need everything I bought lol 😂

I have 10 washi tapes and I already had some markers and some fine markers and lots of pens, and I use my highlighters. I got my dotted BulletJournal the same time I got the tape and I already had a ruler. It’s fun when I just bullet journal and not just daze off when it’s open, for some reason dazing off with my journals open stresses me out lol.

i love bullet journaling! here is what i use: 4 Tombow pens, they are about 3 dollars each. a black pen that i got from the library. I have a dotted page bullet journal which i DIYed. i printed out dotted paper from gridzzly,com then i folded the paper in half, got some card stock cut it out then put it on the back and front then lastly stapled it! hope this helps

I didn't even know what it was before I watched this video. I was like what's a bullet journal? I did once try to make a notebook into a journal and a diary and called it my Jordy which is like journal+diary. I even made a cover page and it was like the prettiest thing I ever made! Thx now I know what its really called!

If you live in the Houston/friendswood area then I recommend going to the Baybrook Mall and going to a store named typo they have cute bullet journals there that come with dots and everything and also they sell cool customized pens and thin pens I got my supplies there and I loved it

If you already have supplies, go ahead and use them! I already had a set of watercolours so markers and brush pens weren't an essential for me. You don't need to by the specific things that all the bloggers and youtubers use if the things you already have do the job! That way, it makes it much cheaper to start bullet journalling so you can see if you like it before you invest. Plus, trying to manage without lots of things helps you to figure out exactly what you need to buy. For example, I originally thought I would prefer a set of pastel markers because they look pretty. But after using my journal for a while, I have realised I tend to use bright colours a lot so I would benefit more from standard brightly coloured markers.

Can someone explain why people prefer the "Leuchtturm 1917" notebook? I don't see the whole hype about it because even PENCIL, YES PENCIL ghosts on the paper. Notebooks like the Scribbles that Matter and the DIngbats notebook have 100 GSM and it's the same price.

I am starting a bujo for 2020. But as it is my first time, I think my supplies are - 1.Regular notebook that is lined 2.Gel pens for writing 3.Regular markers like sharpie 4.Washi tapes 5.Colored pencils But if I love bullet journaling that year I will buy a little pricey stuff for 2021(Maybe)
