Same here. I built free flight Keil Kraft gliders (Soarer Baby) which went well but a drag having to retrieve. Then control line Keil Kraft Ranger which I took to school model airplane club. Master flew it well and I crashed it. So depressed so never built another. Would love to try an r/c aircraft so watching this is fun. This quite small - do you think a larger wingspan eg 3-4 feet would give more progression ie slower

@theoztreecrasher26472 ай бұрын
Sorry, but not too many people would agree with you there. The re-branded Esky EYAS (Eagles) which is sold as the Aeroscout by Horizon Hobby IS quite a good plane for pilots with some little experience. (2nd or 3rd plane.) But the Mini Aeroscout is recognized as a very poor plane for beginners - not anywhere near the same quality as the larger 1.1m plane. These are a possible choice as an absolute starter plane for beginners but are only a second choice behind the Volantex versions. (V761-4 Sport Cub 500) You would only choose this if the price was quite a bit less than the Sport Cub.

Too much wind for such a ultra light rc plane
@GigglingGobby21 күн бұрын
I think that's way too skittish a plane for a beginner. When I learned to fly RC, I did it with a much bigger slower and more stable trainer design and had an experienced pilot do the takeoff and landing until I'd learnt to steer it in circuits in the air, high enough up so the other pilot could take over if things got hairy, which they do very quickly on a novice flight, hahahahaha! It takes time to get the hang of piloting remote control, especially when it's coming towards you and the controls are effectively reversed. These days could probably do much of the training on a flight sim like the free windows one from FMS. The advantage of a tiny plane like this one is that it's more durable and the startup cost is low, but you need both of those and more because it's going to be crashing endlessly and require spare parts a lot so in the end it's probably cheaper to buy a proper trainer or even go to a club and ask for a few lessons before buying this little one 😀
