Fantastic walkthrough! Thank you! I’m curious what you think about either splitting up the grammar and composition in EIW 7? So maybe one week grammar, one week composition? Or is it better to stick with the way the course is set up? I will be supplementing with Analytical Grammar as well when my son isn’t doing the grammar portion of EIW7.

Hello! I love that idea! 😊 I think that would work well since there is not much grammar in the 7th & 8th grade levels and there is less content overall than the Lower levels which grants that flexibility to work with and adjust the schedule. The curriculum offers a sample schedule of rotating weeks with their literature course, but I think that same idea for scheduling could work with grammar as well.

You can purchase the DVDs in the package deal or there is a Streaming option.

I’m trying to decide between IEW and lightening literature. Do you supplement with novel studies?

Hi Crystal, 😊 We have only used EIW for the Grammar & Composition (never have used the literature). We have done different things for literature throughout our homeschooling… For this year, we are using the Literature component that correlates with their Civics course 👉🏽notgrasshistory.com/products/uncle-sam-and-you-literature-package (However, we did not have to purchase these books as we were able to borrow most from our local library and also had a couple at home already)

@@HisArrowsOurHands We are doing the same thing! We are using the Uncle Sam and You literature and EIW for writing. EIW is new to us so your video helps a lot! :)

What did you think about the 8th grade level?

We enjoyed it. We did supplement with additional grammar since it focuses more on composition, but other wise it worked well for us. 😊

No, we have not used 7th grade. We alternate years between EIW and ABeka… (with our older 2 boys, we have used Abeka for 7th grade). I explain in a bit more detail in this video 👉🏽 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d7FkmKurutOxoIU.html
