Esthetician School is MESSY! Tips for Beauty Students

Hi, love! In this video I describe my experience in Esthetician Schooling in all it's messy detail!
Keep in mind, every state and each school can vary greatly - something good and bad about the industry. Do your research, and ask other people in the industry as many questions as possible! And congratulations on whichever route you choose to take. It's never too late to change things up!

I’m so glad you mentioned the 40 yr old in your class. Dentistry is my first career. But I’m thinking now of doing esthetics. My only worry is finding a job and what kind of money can be made starting out? Thank you 💗

I think it depends on your area, I live in rural PA and it can be hard finding the right spot. Starting out I’m making a 40% commission, but it is not always busy at my spa so it can be tough. Most estheticians find the most $ owning their own studio or working at a medical spa, where you can get trained on peels and microneedling. ♥️

i went to empire, it was so messsy there. drama, Old, broken equipment, only cared about money made from clients so instead of focusing on students it felt like we were just slaves working for free basically. they kicked me out bc i got covid and i missed 5 days and they counted the weekend even though they are closed (makes no sense) so they used those extra days against me. also there was a teacher that was soooo rude and talked down at me like i was dumb/unimportant. im going to be starting another school this year i hope its a better experience.

That’s awful, I’m so sorry you had that experience! I know I’ve heard some similar tales about the small school I went to, so it seems like a gamble no matter the size of the school!

I’m here for any tips, advice, anything anyone wants to share. I think I found a school close by. This is like a second career for me. I’m 40 and a single momma. With no help with my kiddos. Much love and I can’t wait to learn more!

Yes, so excited for you! A lot of ladies at my spa have other careers and enjoy Esthetics part time! Much less stressful than some other side hustles! As long as your school is convenient, most of your learning will be done after you’re licensed so proximity is what I needed with my schooling as well. Much love, and you rock, Momma! 💖

You’ll definitely see more income potential that way! As long as management is good about training. A nursing degree always increases the amount of services you could offer at one, too.

@@spudzie14 true i plan few years after I'll start my own med spa but i want to build my clientele first i always wanted to start in a med spa
