I think it would be a lot easier if the manufacturers of the bodies would make a FE (F*****g Enormous) Zip that went all the way down the side... sorted lol!

Pete, when you are opening the curtain clips don't bother trying to feed the web up into clip to loosen it too fiddly and everybody know your are rookie, what to do is as you pull the release with right hand have your left hand behind the webbing that's running down the curtain with palm towards you, as you release the clip give a short firm yank with palm back to you and the tension is released fast and easy!! also when release the curtain ratchet pull the curtain from the bottom of the pole which unwraps the pole and there is usually a bit of a handle to lift pole out, AND big one !! in the high winds AVOID opening both curtains at the same time the wind is a bitch, I found out the hard way dockside at immingham with an artic ...Jesus thought id never get the sods shut! lol hope this helps Gaz

Great video nice & easy. The only thing he forgot was his oxygen mask, the poor ol’ sausage was knackered. Hat’s off to him well done.

Great help thanks. I learnt how to use a tail lift but I guarantee when I get my first class 2 job soon it'll be a curtainsider.

Either way you will work it all out soon enough, good luck.

Well Done Peter! That's probably the best instruction video you've done! I used to have to do that when I worked at the Argo Distribution yard. Then what you do is throw all the Bathroom Vanity units into the truck from as far away as possible and see how many you could break! Also wear gloves because when it rains or snows in the Autumn/winter, those straps slip and can really cut your hands.

If you grab the middle strap and the pole you can pull it all back in one go and when you release the pole pull the bottom of the curtain and there's a strap you can use to lift it out

You're welcome Mark. All curtain clamps vary slightly but you quickly get the hang of it. Good luck.

I always wear gloves when doing curtains it saves your hands getting battered. Good shout on securing the pole, I learnt the hard way by getting knocked out on windy days

@@PetetheCourierDriver you made it look very easy. The problem is when we are trained, it’s not in a curtain sided Lorry 😂😂😂

Always pull the curtain pole at least 1 pallet space clear of the oallet being taken off by the forkie so that if the forkie cant see through the forklift mast or its a site telescopic that doesnt have sideshift so will swing out wide when reversing etc the forklift wont dent the truck curtain pole because once the curtain pole is dented its fun and games to get back in especially in the wind etc And in the wind you can also lift the curtain pole up eg swing the top part of the curtainpole outside of the truck and lift the bottom of the curtain pole and put it on the truck bed and it shouldnt move and you can put one of the curtain sidef straps on to another strap just to absorb the slack in the wind etc Ref the curtain sider straps etc The black plastic ones are easy and fast to undo

When you're tightening the clips on the curtain . Pull the strap and do like an open and close motion on the clip. It will tighten it a lot more

Approach a job like this with no experience ..as myself who drive boxed rigids , an them higher folk seem to deem it as no experience when it could be taught in a day with an experienced driver
