Hey! here is some of the most used and best DPS rotations for the best damage possible for bosses. This is a very simple guide for solo players to maximize there damage as much as possible in destiny 2.

Bungie needs to update the enclaves damage disks to allow us to proc certain perks to test there.

For your Cataclysmic, switch to enhanced battery then you get 2 4th times procs in one mag (6 down four to 2 back up two to 4 down four to 0 back up two 2 for 10 shots per mag), and your total damage goes up way higher without loosing much in dps at all

make 2 chest pieces 1 with triple reserves for whatever weapon you plan on using and one with your defensive mods. if you use the reserves chest before rallying you keep your ammo once you swap to your 2nd chest piece

On top of that, when you die in a non-darkness zone or in a team at any time, always swap back to your triple reserve piece before getting revived, then swap again to your normal piece afterward. You can actually gain ammo this way if you've used some, because the game saves the proportion of your reserves you had when you died, not the number of shots. Using Briar's with a 5 magazine, triple reserves give me 24 shots total. If I die and revive with my normal piece, I'll be down to 20 again. If I use 4 shots from 24, (so alive with 20), die with normal chest on, swap to reserves chest, revive, I'll have 23 shots instead of 20, (game math is weird, but I think it averages the inventory stat between when you died and when you revived, plus some rounding error).

Something to consider: if you’re just going to use a single shotgun, sniper, or gl for damage, you basically always want a kinetic weapon over an energy for the 15% bonus damage kinetic specials get. Pretty much the only exception is wildeflight (double shot gl) which just does 30% more damage than all other gls. Any swap combo where you want a tube gl (like izi, gl, rocket) an auto loading wildeflight is the way to go.

100% agree. You can also swap the special gl for a slug or sniper if a special gl isn’t a good option. Make sure to have all dex, targeting mods and use x3 surges with x3 time dilation

This is true unless your energy weapon matches your heavy weapon because triple surge is 22%

Globally, all kinetic weapon damage has a 1.1x multiplier against unshielded combatants compared to energy weapons of the same archetype. Let's stop the confusion here and now.

For only hunters, lucky pants with warden’s law (fttc + vorpal) or malfeasance is also a solid option to do burst damage

Nice informative video for newer people. I will say however that I recommend not starting with a rocket shot for bait and switch. If you use your other 2 weapons first and then fire your rocket, the first rocket gets the 35% bonus from bait and switch. It's been tested and confirmed.

yup was going to say this, also bait and switch only lasts 10 seconds and he forgot to put reproccing it into the rotation, also also some snipers that don't fire as fast will take too long to unload the whole mag to proc it within the 7 second proc window as he suggested

(If using double slug method) If you strand grapple right before you swap to the next slug shotgun, you can swap and shoot extremely fast. This goes for any weapon actually, but people use it for slugs.

You can even do it with any grenade if you make a sacrifice to the Lords of Dark to get more fingers and 4 more buttons on your controller.

I want to quickly mention that the reserves point about the apex , is inventory stat dependant . Inventory size stat is what most of the time dictates your maximum reserves (there are some perks that add a flat amount on top of this cap , such as bipod) , the reason why apex reaches the cap of 9 with 2 and doesn't get to 10 with 3 is because reserve mods have hard built diminshing returns. Keep in mind inventory size stat is capped at 100 like most other weapon stats , Since inventory stat is an invisible stat you must manually check individually per weapon whether or not the 3rd reserve mod makes a difference or not . As an example , apex doesn't benefit from the 3rd reserve but cold comfort will , going up to a cap of 10 (which is the max for rockets,outside of flat number increases like bipod which does not modify the inv size but rather adds a flat maximum on top of the inv size cap)

I also want to mention for 3/0 surge vs 2/1 surge matching , your other weapon element needs to deal 42.7% of the damage your main weapon element does. for it to be worth using a 2/1 split rather than 3/0.

Where does lucky pants sit on this? I've seen plenty of videos comparing the damage output of the handcannon but barely anything about how it compares to other builds when used in an actual dps rotation.

Uhhhh.. why start with the rocket for the first rotation? Should be Izanagis, Sub, Rocket, Repeat no? That way you will have BnS for every rocket instead of losing the benefit on the first rotation.

Can someone tell me why when using double slugs you swap in between each shot instead of just emptying one and then the other? Doesn’t doing it that way not give auto loading time to proc?

normally that's how you do it but by using your grapple you can cancel the whole pumping animation inbetween shots and shoot twice as fast. It's a glitch so you're not suppose to be able to do that.

The reason people swap is to increase DPS. You can test it yourself. Fire two shots from a slug shotty and gauge how long that takes. Now shoot one swap and shoot the other. Unless your handling stat is very low you will find that you can get two shots out faster by swapping. Reason being there is a hesitation built into the animation of your gun between shots. The swap animation is faster than the hesitation animation so you get more shots out by swapping. However you are correct that negates the autoloading perk. If you want to use autoloading on slug swapping you will need a heavy weapon in your rotation that you can use while autoloading does its thing. Does that answer your question?

you should just play eremite in that case and put on solor surge. Tractors damage isnt that high that it would outperform eremite. But you could go with 2x Void surges and 1x Kinetic when you play double slug with Heritage and Nessas Oblation

There's not to many good void fusions unfortunately. Would recommend eremite from current season, royal executioner, or nox perrenial if you get a good roll.

Dps phases like caretaker and the planets boss in RON are the bane of my existence. Would you recommend a izi gl apex rotaion for dps or a one and done , explosive light envious cold comfort?

For explicator you want to use apex with rain of fire you proc bns with 2 Tracerifels or something else but not Izi cause it takes to long then shot your 2 rockets ic dash and shot another rocket you get 3 rockets out very very fast. You and your team have to count down when doing damage for it otherwise you probably dont have enough time for the 3rd Rocket.

you only activated it once, and you also said to shoot the rocket first but you should actually shoot the rocket last to get BnS damage on the first rocket

@@dudeydude77_clipsI could be wrong but i think the first rocket fired never has the bns buff as you have to fire all the weapons THEN the huff begins so the first rocket shot is wasted whether it’s the first, second or third weapon fired

@bengiroux6278 You can't get BnS on the first rocket, as BnS procs after damage has been done with all weapons. He starts with a rocket so that by the time he's back to the rocket launcher, both shots will have the damage bonus. He did forget to mention proc'ing BnS again, but sometimes the damage phase isn't long enough to proc it more than once since it lasts 10 sec. Just keep an eye on the timer or practice the rotation and remember how many rotations you can get before BnS runs out.

In the long range dps part of hte video - why do you begin with a rocket first instead of proccing bait and switch before using it?

Because you need to damage a target with all 3 weapons to proc BnS, so if you start with primary, energy then heavy the first rocket wont have BnS. Whereas if you start with rocket, energy then primary, when you tag the boss with primary, BnS starts so you get 2 rockets with BnS right at the start with 10 seconds of buff time

Could you do something more specific for ghorn? I tend to fire all the rockets and someone said that isn't the way to use it.

so when you fire 1 ghorn, it gives wolfpack rounds that last 10-15secs (not 100% sure on time). so in that 10-15 seconds you should switch to a fusion or sniper or something to pump damage, then before that wolfpack buff times out, shoot another ghorn to refresh buff.

You should rocket dump ghally. VERY few phases are too long for this. But if you are in that situation, half dump then do secondary damage then dump the 2nd half of rockets

Switching weapons is often done for weapons that have auto loading perks, like auto loading holster and reconstruction. Reloading wastes time during a dps phase, so that’s why you swap. More damage from other guns and as little reloading as possible. For bait and switch, it requires you to shoot your other two weapons to get the damage buff, therefore you need to swap between your weapons. So it makes sense to pair it with another heavy hitting weapon like izanagi’s burden or witherhoard.

3:00 dont reload the izi completely - once you see the ammo go into your mag, swap weapons. dont do the entire reload animation Also if you are using apex predator, you want the first rocket to get bait and switch as well, so dont shoot a rocket before proccing bait. Most importantly, you want to get all 9 rockets in a damage phase, and to do that you want to manually reload it. If you are using witherhoard/izi with your apex, you want to manually reload a rocket before swapping to your other weapons so you have 2 rockets in the mag every time. example: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/erp4jMiWy5fSd6c.html

Good tips there but about BnS: the first rocket of a rotation never gets the buff. BnS procs only after all 3 weapons deal damage, meaning that the first rocket don't get the buff regardless if it's used first or last. By shooting a rocket first, he just makes it so by the time he switches back to heavy the perk is active and he gets to fire 2 buffed rockets back to back instead of one before reloading/switching weapons.

Why starting with a rocket when the rocket-launcher has bait&switch? The first rocket won't have the b&s buff in this way...

idk if you realize but you need to damage with "ALL" weapons to proc the bait and switch, that means? If you start from primary, your first rocket wont have the bait and switch buff. If you start from rocket launcher, your rocket will have time to load itself with reconstruction and have 2 rockets ready when the b&s buff is active.
