Beautiful woodwork. Glad it got all cleaned up and maybe can get sold now. What a beautiful home it is. The original owners had a vision but sadly it was lost for them.

People who go in and trash homes vandalize like this one, are people who have no respect for themselves or others, have never had to work to earn what they have therefore have no appreciation for the home and have a sense of entitlement and feel like everyone owes them something or is just down right jealous of places like this and destroys it because they feel if they can't have a place like this then no one should.

They may have not just walked away. They may have all died tragically or gotten arrested or bankrupt, went back to their homeland and were not allowed to return, etc. I do wish Ethan dug deeper to reveal the backstory.

They could have died and the family might be fighting over the property in court. It might have been sold to a developer, who plans to tear it down.. who knows... could be a lot of things... but it's a mystery for sure

The tenets were evicted. Why they left everything behind? Im guessing their possessions were seized. Cuz idk why else u would leave behind such valuable things

Well, someone, I'm assuming the owner/occupant, died in the home for starters. He did find a death certificate.

@vivkiehurst5095 It’s simply ghastly. Remarkable is not a word I’d use. As for architecture….well…. The masters would be turning in their graves. It’s an eyesore . The exterior has no appealing features. The owners had money but clearly no taste. The value here lie’s definitely in the land.

There's this wonderful thing about being human and that is we all have differing tastes, which makes the world a wonderful mix of different types of people, different styles of buildings and different cultures. Regardless of the 'eccentric' castle style on the exterior - the inside was spacious and gorgeous with the wood detailing.

This could make for a really great wedding/events hall or venue, or some type of bed n breakfast more like a weekend resort. Idk it looks dumber typed than how I'm envisioning it. @@ItsLaurenE Yes that's a great idea you mentioned to host weddings, run a bed and breakfast and events and other things. I would still like to see some of these homes sold to people too but making them something they can afford, not just millionaires and billionaires. I know what you mean about how it seems really logical and do-able when you are thinking about it in your mind as opposed to writing it down. Seeing the facts and possible costs staring at us on paper makes things seem unrealistic. Your ideas are definitely not dumb. I felt the same thing after I posted my comment but I think our ideas are good ones and should be started even if the ideas don't have momentum at first. I think what gets me too is the price it would cost for people to pay to enjoy it. If only that part could be changed however those in charge always seem to be rich and want to block good ideas and good people. They always want to make a profit and raise prices so high. That is what caused these people to move out of their homes in the first place. Maybe the right team of people can come together who are not so interested in money and making a profit. They could handle details as they go along and figure out the details. Or better yet the Rich people wouldn't be in charge at all. People like us would be. Wow it's something awful when we are so used to not being the ones who control and run things. We always have to put our plans and dreams aside. That's terrible when you think about it. who knows, rich people can also lose their many fast...the fact that they just left the place like this means they didnt have money to do literally anything with it. and seeling these type of houses is not easy thing to do, so the only thing possible is to abbadon it...
