I admire the audio snake companies for being smart, they saw the move from the mixers tech going into ethernet cables and right away they made their own moves, compare to buying a stage box that is almost the price of the mixer we now can stay with the old and still use the ethernet cable technology, is a chess game and I love it, at the end of the day the sun lights up for all of us.

I've been using the LYX Audio 4ch version of these for a few yrs now..., GREAT for an Acoustic SOLO/Duo. Ive been pondering on the 8ch for a while now because of the 'split' option... You just "SOLD ME" on at least 2 of them...

With the way these are built, aren't you only able to run 4 XLR channels per Cat cable?

Yup it’s 4 (XLR) but it can be 2 x Audio Analog 1x DMX and 1 pair AES/EBU or any variation

Can this be connected to a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface for more inputs?

No this is an all analog solution it can pass AES/EBU but it does not DA/AD conversion.

Slightly confused on the way it connects to the board. I’m thinking it doesn’t use the cat5 port. I’m thinking you have one of those red boxes on the back side of the board to send the signal from xlr to cat5. Am I right?

Yes ..for the mon sends as well for 4 monitors drop
