Yeah there's a lot more nuance to this than ppl think about. Tho, why what does and doesn't count as a vocal is even such a big issue to begin with is beyond me

So, the first category would be for example Shrubb and PongPing, because their sounds are beatboxing and throat-flicking. The second would be like Yooreek and Blarret because their sounds are a bass synth and otamatone, but they move their mouths while making the sounds. The third one would be like Dandidoo and Whaill because they have voice acting.

Using a vocal synth still counts as instrumental because it's too distorted to count as anything else Yooreek isn't meant to be a vocal it's meant to be a synth, and you can't include the entire monster just because ONE track could maybe pass as vocal if you try really hard (none of its tracks are fully vocal, they only sound like it because of the synth they used) X'rt is either a distorted saxophone (that's really unlikely) or frog noises (depending on the frog you listen to and in what environment this is infinitely more likely, although it might be pitched down to be in the same key as Ethereal Workshop). Unless a monster handler actually burped into the mic just for fun, X'rt is either a distorted saxophone or low pitched frog noises

Not what a vocal synth is, a vocal synth is a regular synth made to sound like a voice, there's no actual voice in a vocal synth. A Sampler, vocalizer, or vocaloid would be the more appropriate terms for what you are describing All synths are instrumental

Meebkin is one of those weird rainstick things. Don't know the actual name, but it's not a vocal at all. Not sure if it counts as instrumental or percussion, though, but it's one of them.

first time i see someone bring this up and i’m happy i read it, cuz it feels like i’m the only one who thinks that in the new verses, the “psuedo-vocals” like yooreek and blarret play too much

I disagree with the Pentumbra thing but I'm biased because that's my favorite monster also the final verse is just way too loud, maybe they should've given some of the monsters new tracks so they actually fit (like Yooreek, he's too high pitched, or they could have used his 3rd track instead)
