What is a bubble? It's when something has an inflated price. Does Bitcoin have an inflated price? NO. It hasn't, because there is a HUGE number of people that is going to want Bitcoin in the next couple of years. Bitcoin is actually exceptionally undervalued. That's why a huge number of people is holding Bitcoin, and that's why its price will keep rising.

Dollars and Euros are what we call fiat currency. They only have the value that is determined and set by Governments and banks. Unfortunately until such time as something better comes along (like crypto currency) we have to measure everything with them. This will change bit by bit, A house came up for sale the other day and the seller insisted on Bitcoin for payment. We will see more and more of this as it goes mainstream.

Turing complete language is a risk in Eth, Satoshi did not build Bitcoin with turing complete language to reduce risks. I still trust Bitcoin more. Bitcoin was built with a single purpose, to become a currency while Eth created with many purposes in mind. I'd prefer things that are specialized.

Vlad I agree, however ether isn't designed as a store of value or as a 'currency' as such. It's sole purpose was to be pay for gas on the ethereum network... however I believe that might change with the Radeon update. Ether is so adaptable that it might very well become a currency in itself, like bitcoin is. It's much faster in confirmations and the market capd are very similar with similar trade volumes and it takes me just a few seconds to recieve my ether. not minutes like bitcoin. Time will tell! bitcoins lightning network upgrade will be a good look at how things could change

Surges and falls are normal for bitcoin. It's a new industry so people need to pay attention to its habits in history. Look in the past: there's surges and falls. It's normal. It'll keep going up and up. Ethereum has surges and plateaus, surges and plateaus. Watch whatever cryptocurrency you want and pay attention to its volatility/ stability.

Fred Wilson has been known to make outlandish claims including this one about Ethereum. I don't think it will happen that fast because Bitcoin still has a very sizable following and foot print in the crypto space. Give it some time and Ethereum's superior programming language will trump Bitcoin's snail speed development pace.

Blockchain will always be more secure. Ethereum will always be more versatile. Speculation is frivolous , investment in positive growth is a social responsibility for those can. I mean there's like 5-6x more ether than BTC in circulation...sooo would it really be saying much if Ethereum's "market cap" surpassed bitcoin's "market cap". BTC will still be several thousands of dollars more per coin.

Perhaps I should be more specific in my point. A TEMPORARY flip in "market cap" by itself doesn't signal level of significance. Analysis of additional metrics would be necessary to determine how significant, if at all, it was. A merely psychological effect is just that.

The simplicity of bitcoin is the reason it's so secure. Etherium is not secure. Just look recently when there went back and changed the "immutable" ledger.

I think the chances are there but on very low levels. I really don’t think that we will see it overtake BTC, but it can certainly close the gap. If Ethereum manages to get the gap below 50%, I will consider it as a great deal. However, we need to think about everything not just these two, as I feel there are many options we can select from. I like investment on upcoming ICOs more and that’s where I consider Cryptonetix very highly. It’s amazing so far through my experience and also their whole buildup and concept is astonishing, to say the least! #Cryptonetix

Define "investment". There's "good" and "bad" investments. Real estate in most large cities double every 10 years. The DOW and other stock markets since BEFORE the grt depp crash have risen 12% yearly. Gold averaged $300oz US 50-100yrs ago, It avged $800 20-50 yrs ago, it's avged $1200 for the past 20 yrs. I haven't calculated it's actual value drop wih inflation factored (buying power), but if you've always held gold, I don't think you want to know your losses. But go ahead, hold gold... or silver, wood, glass, a paint can or whatever makes you think you've made a correct decision. I'll keep travelling to Europe every year on my earnings from my bank stocks and Bitcoin "investments". The crypto boat you missed is sailing further off to the horizon. Good news is there are more ships departing all the time if you have the brain cells and grow some balls to allow boarding....

Craig, for the first time ever, i am bearish on the equity markets across all . Just close all my remaining long positions held since last November following the banking crash. Now, in my opinion, this is the time to short the shit out of the NAS and SP 500. As for Bitcoin, there is a tendency to break even higher but short-lived. Just my thoughts. Overall, its bearish now, time to call for a crash after been bullish for many months. hahaha, to the hell!

ETH won't scale! (And even if it does, it's better to have smart contracts in the node implementation of their own blockchain network. People like ETH because they feel like they missed out on a lot of profits in Bitcoin. The truth is ETH also has a lot of enterprise money pumped into it and Bitcoin has a much better wealth distribution, which is key in a common currency.

watch the problems eth has when it has to scale. Also eth was pre mined, 85% which is in the hands of the creator's. Good luck with that.. And its forking AGAIN with pos.

yea but see eth will never be worth more a coin. and if you ask me if you want a coin that we know is cheap the cost of sending is cheap and will always be. everyone is already starting to convert btc to doge just to transfer it doge is faster and cheaper to send ;)

He is wrong about the market cap for Bitcoin vs. Ethereum. Ethereum will have HALF the market cap of Bitcoin by the end of 2020. That is still good, but Bitcoin will be preeminent for the next 2 to 3 years easy.

the average person in the street, the people in Zimbabwe already using bitcoin - because of it's store of value - ease of transactions and anonymity - In Zimbabwe - people do not trust banks or government.

well it's a terribly volatile store of value with no history whatsoever and is intangible. Not great.

Hi Malt - A little info for Zimbabweans and the state of the economy. We cannot transfer money outside the country. USD are being replaced with money tokens, issued by the government, to represent USD - and have no fungible value outside Zimbabwe and already have a parralell black market rate of 1.25 Bond being worth 1 usd. Our money is limited to withdrawals of 20 us per day. The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe ( our central bank ) can remove our USD from our accounts at any time. The Banks charge 5 USD for every transaction between accounts - 2USD to withdraw * yes, even our 20 limit, ( 10%) each transaction on a card costs.40 cents, plus 10 cents tax.
