It is a great sadness that there are orphans in the world. Of course I would rather that all children could stay with their biological families and never have to go through the loss of their family and having to live in an orphanage. But this is the reality of this world. We chose to give a loving home to an orphan who otherwise would grow up in an orphanage, if she survived at all. Everyone has a choice, ours was to give love and family to a child in need.

@wodindog The baby cot was provided by the airline KLM. Just ask for one when you book your tickets. It was so nice to have as our daughter was not used to being held all the time and it gave her and us a little break. Yeah for you guys that you have opened up your hearts to Ethiopia. It is a wonderful country and our expirience was awesome!

Beautiful video. We were one of the first families to make two trips under the new law. We met our daughter at Toukoul in late July, and we leave this Friday to bring her home!

hi, im from ethiopa i was adoped my goal is to find all the people adopting babys and tell you as a child growing up i always wished i could have gone back to ethiopa as a child and learn to speak amharic but i must say my mother took me to a camp in californa called ethiopan heritage camp if you look up the camp amber stime runs it PLEASE look into going to a camp!!!!to let her know and lern her coulture and i was 9 months when i was adopted to so GREAT time to start teaching her her heritage!

Unfortunatly there are about 140 million orphans in the world and Ethiopia is one of the poorest countries on earth. The reality is most orphans once they age out often turn to crime including prostitution to survive, many of them commit suicide so while it would be great if they could remain in their country and be adopted into loving Ethiopian families it just doesn't happen so the lesser of 2 evils is to be adopted into loving foreign homes & hopefully they will at least learn about E culture

when i grow older i'll like to adopt 2 or 3 cos in high school my friends would say they want 3 kids but oddly i'll say i want 12 dunno but i just luuuv kids...God bless ur family nd ur new addition..amen
