Six intrepid athletes travel the world to compete against the most remote tribes on earth at their own sports. The world's most brutal form of stick fighting. It's insanely dangerous; no outsiders have ever before taken part.
The idea is to use a seven-foot pole to knock your opponent down, draw blood, or make him give up.
As far as the rules are concerned, that's about it.

This was the best series I've ever watched. I don't know why they never released it as a box set, because it's so worthy of many views! The whole series was just brilliant. There has never been anything close to matching it.

Ahh i miss this show! Just remembered it after an age, glad there are some clips on here. Would love to see another series, preferably with some of the guys from series 1/2! Especially Murray, with him being westcountry and all :)

Hey there do you have the copies of the other episodes. I've tried everything and I can't find any way of getting this series. I've contacted the BBC twho will only provide to you if you were in the show. They never did dvds (for this season) and there are no torrents. This was favourite show growing up you have no idea how it would mean to me if you had the other episodes Please

Similar pattern of strikes. Variety is the striking pattern and the change of direction is missing.. However, considering the determination they have to nail the opponent, it is definitely a deadly combat... Love to try a suri guy in a bout though

Well they probably don't think they're from another WORLD, but another country. Because In Amharic, the principal language of Ethiopia, the word for both world and country is, "ager" therefore it's just a language issue/translating mistake.

@SalehMega I disagree, I think that eradicating native culture is a very, very bad thing indeed. There is a prevalent perception, throughout Africa, that countrys should westernise and that the only way to do so is to destroy native cultures. The unspeakable things that are happening to the Masai and the Bushmen are evidence of that. You do not have to wipe out tribal culture to be accepted by the IMF, if that is what you want.
