Hi my name is Mohamed. I’m an Egyptian. I laughed when I saw the dishes of Egyptian food prepared by that wonderful lady in the beginning. She still has a rock solid Egyptian accent! My parents and grandparents have fond memories of the Jews in Egypt. Too bad how history unfolded. An excellent and eye opening channel!

As an Egyptian Muslim, i was so touched listening the old woman's comment; you're as Egyptian as any of us. Expelling the Jews of Egypt was a political decision that non of the Egyptians wanted nor has our Islamic religion ordered us to do. I wish you can visit your country Egypt someday.

Just political my ass. Politics stirred shit up yes, but the 'innocent' egyptian citizens as you pretend them to be just joined the riots and pogroms, 1000s of highly aggressive muslims went on the streets to attack everything and everyone that was jewish. Have been like that for ages in the arab world. Muslims want the world to believe that the problem started when the Jewish State started in 48, but way before that the jews were oppressed, humiliated, terrorized, attacked and treated like secondrang 'citizens' in the islamic world.

That woman's family was expelled from Egypt, lost two of their homes, and have never been granted the right of return or even reparation, yet she showed nothing but love for the country and people (even though I'm sure she's well aware that few if any Egyptians share the same love for her country or people). Regardless of what did or didn't occur in 1948 (the events of that period are in heated dispute amongst historians), I think Palestinians can learn a lesson from her.

+Arab in Greece I hope so too. Though It was sad to me today to hear that some Egyptian broadcaster visited Israel, and that caused many people in Egypt to hate him and call him traitor. I am just wondering why people in Egypt still don't like Israel after so much time we have peace.. At the time Egypt and Israel were one another largest enemies. But today 40 years after, Egypt especially with SISI (because he is a secular leader, so he is naturally less anti Israeli), seems almost as an alley to most Israelis. But the people there seems still to have very large dislike to Israel. I guess Arabs maybe have harder time than us to see the other side as friends and not only enemies with cold peace, since we still have the conflict with the Palestinians and the Palestinians are considered Arabs? I imagine how would it feel if there were another Jewish state and it was in conflict with some other country.. Guess we in Israel had hard time to feel completely friendly to that country. But anyway, there are no other Jewish states, so for us when the wars with Egypt ended the conflict with it as whole is seems completely finished and belongs to the history. I hope you can explain me better the feelings of the Arabs in Egypt toward Israel. Btw I also have 2 grandparents from Iraq, 1 from Yemen and 1 from Russia. those kind of wierd mixes are very common in Israel :D

Fer3on Yeah because all of these things you've listed were way better before all "zeese bad diktatorzz manfff" took Egypt, right? Kid, you should get in touch with reality. compare the literacy rate before 1952 and then compare it to today, after that check the per-capita income increase, GDP as a whole, etc. In fact the health sector, education, etc were terrific under Nasser and that's why Egypt was advancing at his time even in industrial standards. "Egypt is one of the top corrupted countries in the world," Look kid, list any sources or just shut the fuck up. Enough with the making of shitty rumors that are becoming a daily trend in Egypt and use your fucking brain. Egypt is corrupted, yes, but no where near to become the "top corrupted countries in the world". Hell its rank is decreasing year after year and you can google that if you want. Typical Shamam el kola, being ignorant is in your blood.

Meanwhile Egypt hasn't experienced a single civil war since its unification 7,000 years ago despite the strategic geographical location and the already-divided region. So go to sleep and get in touch with reality, son.

Bringing people together from two countries with tense histories and to realize that despite differences how much has been lost and potentially how much can be gained by not making those same mistakes. Honestly, quite touched by this. Very nice to see such videos and some of the comments.

I'm Egyptian, Muslim, escaped from Egypt to USA many years ago, i'm just wondering how those people still feeling so good toward Egypt ... especially the first lady in the tape ... i know what happened to Jews in Egypt very well, and i 100% believe they are all victims ... but they still feel good toward Egypt instead of acting like a revenge ... nice to see people like them nowadays ... Palestinians who supposed to be Arabs like us hate Egypt so much and i was Evicted from my home in USA by a Palestinian Landlord ... while i was very happy in work with a Jew manager .

+KING OF THE WORLD No, they didn't, there is very little Turk or Arab genetics in Egypt, the people there are ethnically Mediterranean, a Berber type people mainly, they have been there thousands of years. Genetic testing has shown this to be the case.

Blueblood1873 That could be true as Persians conquered the ancient egyptians in 500 bce, and than Greek with Alexander the great 332 bce, than the Arabs in 680 Ad, than the Ottoman Turks, than the Brish Empire...So if they are the ancient egyptians than where are the Persians, arabs, turks and greeks in e Egypt right now ? they all conquered them and was there , settled there for century´s. Explain that.
@Blueblood1873
@Blueblood1873 7 жыл бұрын
KING OF THE WORLD There maybe some genetic influence, however it's minimum, the DNA gene pool in Egypt has only changed by 10-15%, since the building of the pyramids. The people particularly in the North are largely indigenous to the area, as I mentioned are a Berber type (Amazigh) people, they've been there for thousands of years. I don't get your point, these nations and civilisations may have invaded Egypt, however they didn't replace the native population, they only added to it in a modest manner. Most of Africa and areas in the middle-east, were invaded and annexed by European nations, however they didn't have a major impact on the DNA pool, so I don't see why you can't believe a nation with a substantial population, hasn't had most of it's people replaced, as I mentioned there are numerous examples of this, not just in Egypt.

Blueblood1873 147 Of the pharoah´s has the same haplogroup which is E1B1B , which means that the ancient egyptians most likely fled to to East-Africa through Sudan or the Nile. (Somalia, djibouti, Ethiopia and Eritrea) And before the Persians , Nubian´s in 600 bce with Taharka who conquered Ancient Egypt. 100 years after that, come´s the Persians, 200 years after that come´s the Greeks, than comes the Romans , then come´s the Arabs, than come´s the Ottoman turks...haha. Israel has invaded Palestine, for the last 70 years. Think about that, the Nubians invaded Egypt in 660 bce for 160 years, than the Persians came along, invaded them for over 200 years , than the Romans came along invaded for 200 years , than the Greeks invaded for almost 800 years, than the arabs came along with Islam invaded for over 800 years, than the Ottoman turks came along with Muhammad Ali invaded for over 200 years until the british came....Look at Palestine it´s only Gaza right now , and that was in 70 years. You have to be out of your mind to think that the Ancient Egyptians never fled out of Egypt to SAFETY, during this time. We are talking about over 3000 YEARS OF INVASIONS, BACK TO BACK.

First of all they're called Palestinians, not Arabs. Arab is a culture not a specific geographical location. These people have lived on this land for centuries. You can't blame Arab countries for dispossession Jews and then say it's okay to do it to the Palestinians. You have already done it to 750,000 in 1948 but now the world can see and hear and although it's ongoing on a Smale scale, you can't do it on the same 1948 scale again. A country is for its people regardless of religion. That's what it was 80 years ago in the Arab world but Israel took us back to Medieval Europe.

Honestly my eygptian grandmother died before i was born so i didnt get to hear from her about her life in eygept, or to experience the food and culture she grew up with and it really saddens me. I know nasser was horibble and led eygept to disaster. I'll come visit eygept in the future for sure and i welcome you to come here to israel too when its safer. سلام ❤❤

@@nogac8809 I grew up in a peaceful family .. hatred/racism was never tolerated in home, So sad to know about the passing of your grandmother with all the stories, good times, memories you could've had with her. The first lady in this video is a perfect example of a classic Egyptian grandmother and that's how i would have imagined your grandmother looked like! you can really take notes from her .. she didn't say anything wrong. You're more than welcome to come to Egypt .. a lot of history and to visit your ancestor's neighborhoods/synagogues/graves in Cairo and Alexandria (Just be smart cause things has changed and people act/say stupid things when they know you're Israeli) a lot of people here are brainwashed and ignorant about history and believe TV! i have a family member lives in Israel since 1991 he went before i was born too and i didn't get a chance to know him or talk to him about how things are there and i believe his sons are the same age as me. *Fun fact: i'm guessing your name is noga(username) that's a common name/nickname in the countryside here : )

I am half Egyptian and I would much rather visit Israel than Egypt since Egypt has become an Islamic cesspool. At least in Israel, they don't practice fgm, don't harass women, there is freedom of speech, civility, cleaner, etc. I find that many Egyptians can be such ignorant and close minded hypocrites, truthfully egypt could learn a lot from Israel. Finally, the woman in the beginning is very lovely and I would love to give her a hug. ❤️❤️✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼✡️✡️

I also sent a mail couple of months ago. I am so excited to see Turkish Jews of Israel. Do they keep them tradition, language, music etc. Which part of turkey are they come from ? If the situation will better in Turkey, do they think to back them home ?
@magicteen1
@magicteen1 8 жыл бұрын
Though I doubt they would wanna live in Turkey, if relations between the two countries were warmer, I'm sure many of them - as well as other Israelis - would visit turkey. In 2008, 560,000 Israelis toured Turkey. That's a huge number considering the fact that Israel's population is only 8 million. (In my opinion, the fact that Turkey is one of the only countries in the region that even recognizes Israel, and thus doesn't deny Israelis entry to the country (as opposed to other countries is the region which do not allow Israelis entry (some won't even allow you in if you have an Israeli stamp on your passport) may be a big factor in why so many Israelis visited there.) The number of Israeli tourists declined, however, to I believe less than 100,000 in 2011. To be honest, I think relations between the two countries would get a lot warmer if Turkey's virulently anti Israel Prime Minister would get ousted, considering the fact that Israeli-Turkish relations were quite good before he took office. Corey made a video on Israelis' views on Turkey. You may be interested in checking that out.

+Gezen Baykuş I used to like to fly between NYC and Tel Aviv a lot on Turkish Airlies because the fare was pretty cheap in the late 1990s,early 2000s -- JFK-Atataturk-Ben-Gurion. On the Istanbul-Tel Aviv/Tel Aviv-Istanbul leg of the route I always met Israelis going to Turkey for vacation, some of Turkish-Jewish background, some not; also Turkish Jews traveling to Israel for vacation, and also Turkish Muslims.

+Gezen Baykuş I am not Turkish Jewish but I have family married to Turks and I know Turkish Jews (Turkish citizens). I have second cousins who are have a Yemeni Jewish father and Turkish Muslim mother in Adana. They identified as Muslims but after Erdogan, persecution increased even though they did not identify as Jews they were discriminated against for having a Jewish father and family name. Ironically, the persecution by fellow Muslims resulted them in converting to Judaism (including their daughter's husband who is also a Turkish Muslim with no Jewish ancestry) and are in the process of leaving Turkey to Israel. Another family is from Istanbul with a Turkish Jewish father and Turkish Muslim mother. The mother converted to Judaism during the marriage. They moved recently to Israel after Erdogan. Another friend of mine is from Izmir and both his parents are Turkish Jews. His wife is an Arab Christian from Hatay and they moved to Australia and his family is planning to leave as well to Australia and Israel because of Erdogan. All of them will tell you Turkey is a great country but Erdogan's government has made them feel uncomfortable. I know a little Turkish from my cousins like yok ya, hoopola, and teshakurim or something like that. All of them speak Turkish, listen to Turkish music and blast it in their cars (Ibrahim Tatilses, Tarkan, Hadise, Gulsen etc), and my cousins dress up in Turkish clothes and do the Turkish line dance. Most of them have families left behind in Turkey. Erdogan who hates Israel has pushed more Jews into Israel. Such irony.

Last 2 years maybe I flight 25-30 time to Israel with full passengers but nearly all passengers are Israeli Arabs last year I met few Turkish Jews. Last week also I had a flight to Tel-Aviv from Dalaman it's also well known touristic place. Most of passengers from Tel-Aviv were Mizrai Jew and few Turkish. Yes nearly I asked one by one because I like diversity and cultures that's why I really like Israel. Many different cultures live in harmony.
