That's simply not true. The Syrian oud typically has a slightly longer neck and lower pitch. An Egyptian oud is similar but with a more pear-shaped body. There is also the Turkish or Greek Style oud, and the Persian oud; each with differentiating factors. By trying to be haughty and "correcting" someone, often you only reveal your own ignorance.

@@sammylahr3429 The instrument is called Oud and thats it any thing added to it doesn't change it name it merely creates a variant which is nearly identical to the original one.

@@sammylahr3429 As for ignorance i didn't claim to be all knowing and as an Oud music fan I've yet to hear about 2 Arabic Ouds thats sound different excluding Mohammed fadhel(محمد فاضل) Oud.
