eToro is a multi-asset investment platform. The value of your investments may go up or down. Your capital is at risk.
Copy Trading does not amount to investment advice. The value of your investments may go up or down. Your capital is at risk.
eToro Affiliate Links may lead to compensation if followed
All trading involves risk. Only risk capital you’re prepared to lose. Past performance is not an indication of future results. This content is for educational purposes only and is not investment advice.
Cryptocurrencies can fluctuate widely in prices and are therefore not appropriate for all investors. Trading cryptocurrencies is not supervised by any EU regulatory framework.
This video talks about how you can take your profits when you copytrade on Etoro, and what happens to your copytrading profits if you just leave them in the site... Do you have to withdraw your profits and re-add them to the copy? Or does it take care of that automatically? Also, if you want to take your profits out of a copy-trade, does that mean you have to stop copying that trader or can you just take some of the money out and leave the rest to still copy that person?
Etoro have done a pretty fantastic job of designing their system to optimise the performance of your money. Whatever profits you make from copying a trader are automatically reinvested back into that copy so the amount of funds you're copying that trader with can just keep on growing, making bigger and bigger trade sizes (provided the trader you're copying is making profits rather than losses...)
If you really want to withdraw money from a copy position, then you can either close the copy outright in which case your money (after profits or losses are applied) will go back into your available balance, and you can then withdraw it from Etoro,
OR you can choose just to remove a portion of those funds from the copy, but still keep some of your money with that trader, still copying them.
This video explains these options in a little more depth...

Very insightful video, although most traders are searching for that elusive method where they never lose or can win eight or nine trades out of 10, amassing huge profits in a short amount of time with little or no risk.

@@SocialTrading very helpful thank you. What do you mean that the Profit is automatically added to the amount? I've noticed that when the market closes the "Profit" is not added to the initial amount. For example if i copy a trader with $100 and at the end of the day i have a profit of $10, then the next day that $10 is not added to the initial amount of $100. Shouldn't it be added or is it something i have to do?

@@SocialTrading - oh by the way I was with my mum and sister the other day - - my sister is middle ged. It seems to me that they are both excessive consumers of products and tech marketed with the female consumer in mind. I asked them which companies they felt should be doing well and they came up with an interesting list. Later I looked for a woman copy trader to add to my copies who might reflect some of these choices. I found Sharon Connolly from Sydney Australia. How about a review on Sharon?

Nice video dude, However Do you think that Etoro's fees is high , and what other platforms do you recommend ! Thanks :G
@SocialTrading
@SocialTrading 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, yeah I do think their fees are high - it's one of the most common complaints.. Well actually their spread fees, rather than the others (although people do complain about the $25 withdrawal fee too, but you can lessen the impact of that by not withdrawing small amounts often ... still it's a hassle though). I don't know what to say about the spread fees - they are just high. It was copytrading that brought me to Etoro (i was looking for bot (algorithmic) trading but couldn't find it) and I looked at some other copytrading sites and they just didn't look anywhere near as good as Etoro, so I stuck here, and just started learning about trading from various other sites and videos, but for my actual trading I've stuck to this so far - if you find some others which you think are better, let me know - I haven't so far. I have signed up for quite a few crypto exchanges recently to see what they're about and because Etoro offers quite a limited choice of cryptos, but they're a very different thing and still don't offer copytrading which I like a lot. I think the next big change will be decentralised exchanges, but they don't exist just yet either... I think someone said plus500 offers leveraged crypto trading but that sounds like a recipe for disaster for me (I tend to lose money when i use too much leverage) so I haven't gone and checked, and it might be rubbish anyway... There are loads of straight manual trading platforms to choose from, but, again - it's copytrading which most interests me so I've not got into them.

@SocialTrading
@SocialTrading 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you :) I generally see what I'm comfortable risking, but also try to work out what the max drawdown is for that trader. Do they have a target in mind for the maximum they're prepared to lose? I ask them directly on their feed, so that I can get a more realistic view of the losses that trader is prepared to take, and what I can expect. I then think about setting my copy stop loss in relation to that. I made a video which covers some of this in a way: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/md5jfsZkspiuqJs.html&ab_channel=SocialTradingVlog

Good day! I recently subscribed as your videos are really helpful. Specially to those who are just starting to learn online trading like me. Just a question regarding the availability of the exchanges. I understand that share prices fluctuate from time to time, so what would be the prize that will take in when you close/open a trade if the relevant exchange is not available? Will it be the prize at the time your transaction takes place or the prize when they actually process your transaction? Thanks.
@SocialTrading
@SocialTrading 5 жыл бұрын
The price when they process it as far as I know. When you try to open a trade when the markets are closed, your trade actually become an 'at market order' as far as I'm aware. This means that it's an order to execute your trade at the first market price available. If there's been some big news around the asset pre-market, this can be a big difference either up or down sometimes.

Thank you for the great vid. I just have a question, when is the best time to stop copying the traders that copied? Mm copied traders are doing well and they perform well, all of them are in green color. Do I need to close them and recopy again or shall I remove some of the traded stocks manually (which I dont want to take the trust that I gave them in my investment)?. The scenario is like this, i invested $250 to someone and now it is already $280 for a week. Then I want to get the amount which grew to $30. Do I need to close him and recopy or shall I just remove stocks manually to increase my actual money? I hope you can enlighten me with your thoughts. Thank you!

Hi there - Honestly, for anything to do with payments and what Etoro allows and doesn't I'd ask eToro directly as the last thing you want is inaccurate information and problems further down the line... I could say what I think is right, but it does change, and so it's best to check exactly what the situation is now really...

Morning Thomas, Hope you are well.. Can you answer the following. When I look at the Annual Performance figures for traders ; the final annual % is always higher than the sum of each of the 12 months for example ... JeppeKIRKBonde results for 2017 show the final Annual return as 148.05% however if you just add up the months individually it calculates at a lower return of 100.21%. This discrepancy (difference) is on every traders performance figures that I have looked at. Can this be explained. Many Thanks.

Hi George - might it be the fact that the interest is compounding? So if you have 100, and you make 5%, then you have 105. if the next month you make 5%, then you have 5% of 105, which is larger, and on and on through the year... I think that's what's happening there.

I think it's more of, equity. The 148% Is the overall ROI. Which is the true ROI. Inside the traders portfolio, the profits are shown by months, but it actually is the equity from start of the month to end of the month, due to withdrawal between the month, the equity may vary at the end of the month. And will not be relative to the profit gained during that month.

Hi Thomas, just re-watched your vid again and want to understand the reason why if I've invested, lets say $100, but when I check I only have $75 listed as invested in my copy trade. Where is the $25 difference? Have you previously covered the implications of when it is best to stop copy in order to add new funds or rather just add to the existing trade? I'm sure there must be scenario's when its best to stop copying and restart the copy?
@SocialTrading
@SocialTrading 6 жыл бұрын
Hi there - it could be because the trader you're copying is keeping 25% of his funds in reserve and not trading with them - in case a good opportunity comes up or because he thinks the markets for the asset he wants aren't quite right now and he's waiting for a better price - your copy account is mirroring his. It could also be because your copy amount is low, and it can't copy some of his trades as to do so would mean you would have to open trades with less than $1 - the minimum you can open a copied trade with is $1. If he places a 0.5% trade on something, it tries to open a trade with 0.5% of the money you copied him with - if that amount is less than $1, then it won't copy that trade. When it's best to stop copy and add funds depends on a number of things - adding fund to a cpy works the same way as when you copy a traders without clicking the "copy open trades" button. It depends how many of his trades are currently profitable or in loss (it will effect your buy price) - if most of his trades are losing and you copy open trades, you'll get a better deal than him - if most of his trades are winning and you copy open trades you'll get a worse price than him. So you'd have to do the maths with the specific trader you're interested in. Mostly though, I'd look at their 'trades per wekk' statistic on their stats page - to see how frequently they open new trades - it will give some indication of how fast your money will be used up in active trades. If you haven't seen the 'should i copy open trades' video, that might make some of what I'm saying a little clearer. Adding funds basically works the same way. if you add funds it's like "don't copy open trades' - if you stop and recopy it's basically all of the implications of starting a fresh copy... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nrVhrdGUx73VdoE.html

I do enjoy your v Blog. And I have a question. If I 'pause copy' on a copy trader, I assume that means I will not copy any more trades, does that also mean that the 'red' trades cannot be closed by the copy trader until the TP point is reached?
@SocialTrading
@SocialTrading 6 жыл бұрын
Hey there Michael - as far as i know it just means you won't open any of the new trades they open until you un-pause the copy... The existing trades should still mirror whatever the person you're copying does with them. That would include closing them. (I think)

Social Trading Vlog Thank you. The issue is about the best way to close a copy. If one just closes, then the red options will close too. But if one pauses copy then I assume the options can all be closed when they reach green, maximising profit when closing a copy. Just trying to work out the best way. Your Vlogs have been a great help by the way. 😊
@SocialTrading
@SocialTrading 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, if you just pause it, it gives them the chance to close the existing positions whenever they think it's best... But it also might take a while for all the positions to be closed and your money to be freed up to spend on other things. It's about how long you can wait in that case really.

Question... Why can't we simply withdrawal the profit and leave the initial investment as it is.?? If I removed the the funds Would it be gonna affect with the future trades?? Example Invest $100 and the profit is $50. I will remove the $50. Now my investment goes down to $50 + profit $50(Still shows under my profit) . So in a future trade will etoro use both my investment ($50) with the profit($50)= $100???
