For anyone watching this video after the 1.41 patch: the spawn key has changed to ctrl+f9 as f9 now has a new function. Took me a while to find out :')

Another useful command is "r_steering_wheel 0" to remove the in-game steering wheel. I don't need to see my real one and the in-game one at the same time. 0=off 1=on

Now to find the largest building in ETS2 and park my truck on it :)

This is a bit late- but for anyone having the issue of hitting the tilde key (~) and nothing coming up, you may have to set the config file as read only, this can be done by right clicking the file, going to properties and selecting the Read Only Checkbox. This worked for me on Windows 10 and I do believe its a Windows 10 issue...like most things these days. Hope this helps someone. Also for anyone curious the reason this needs to be done is that the two commands Squirrel had us change in the video were resetting- in my case they were removed entirely as I never had them in my file to begin with.

Very handy. You mentioned that teleporting won't give you anything for miles, so I'll be using it mostly to skip roads I've already driven.

thank you BTW traffic command can be used drom 0 to 10 so it's increase the traffic spown cars per minute and that will cause a jam traffic for sure

Thanks so much Paul. Teleporting is nice to play with. Its an addition to “fast travelling”. Best of your examples is for me the time setting. Now I can park the truck anywhere during delivery and “rest” some time with g_set_time, skip night hours and continue. Great!

This is a quality helpful walkthrough, thankyou Paul. Would have loved to know the teleport ones early on in my game as quite often my pc would drop vastly in framerate right before a corner and i'd end up over a cliff, only to lose the job and pay for pickup via tow truck.. Keep the My Summer Car vids coming and I'm sure your audience really appreciate your entertainment, as do I. 👍

This video has helped me MASSIVELY, recently I started using TruckersMP and mistakenly used my singplayer account for it, and I had hired a driver and when I went back into singleplayer to let my sister drive around my driver was taking out paychecks of 10 million, and it was awful. This video helped me get my money back for my singleplayer account and i created a new account to use on multiplayer (no mods)

This video was very useful! I just started playing the game and am struggling with the new functions for my XBox 1 Controller. Leaving the thumb on the stick makes the truck wobble from side to side. It's taking a lot of effort to not touch that stick all the time! It's taking time to get used to driving the trucks. It's brilliant to now be able to do it on empty roads! So far I have only played for approx 10 hours. When I get better at driving - I will switch on the traffic. Thank you for making this video!

a few thing you did wrong. 1) g_traffic isn't binary, but real. 1.0 = 100% of intended traffic, but you also can make it e.g. 0.5 or 2.0 for half/double the traffic. 2) You can loose boat in MSC. As any other vehicle you have it have its own x,y,z translation and rotation value in save file. 3) I forget, but usually you mention it on stream with the "boat reset". TBA

For Mac Users: User/(WhateverYourUserIs)/Library/Application Support/Euro Truck Simulator 2. It may be the same with ATS, but I don't know.

F9 not working for spawning truck. Even tried with FN+F9 it doesnt work windows search pops up instead. Any other key ?

That was a fantastic video. I knew about the console and I use some commands, but I didn't know about speeding up the free cam or slowing it down with the mouse wheel. I have seen posts about using the warp command. It said that if you want a more realistic game speed, set the warp to O.95 or 0.96 to get the perfect speed. It won't affect the graphics but it will slow the game just enough to mimic reality. I just wanted to say that using the free cam isn't 'teleporting' as such. The only ways you can teleport is either; to tell the game to send you to one of your garages anywhere on the map, or use the goto command with a city/town name. What you do with the camera is fly, hence the command (g_flyspeed X) where X is the speed you want to fly at. The default is 100. I have mine on 300. I probably won't use that flyspeed command anymore because you taught me to use the mouse wheel to adjust the speed, and for that tidbit of info, I will be eternally grateful. All I have to do now is build myself a PC that shows that game and ATS as good as yours does, lol.

Hi Paul, I've hit a bug I think. When I press the "0" key to get my truck out of a sticky situation, nothing happens when I press F9.. I allready tryed to re-reset the "developer" & "console" in the respective folder, but that doesn't help (first both back to "0", than back again to "1"). Any tips? Kind regards, Bas (NL)

ETC : End of Typing Capacity

I have 500 combined hours in ETS 2 & ATS, and I just learned that you can change flyspeed with the mousewheel. Thanks! P.S. I often will use the warp command to play at around 0.85 to 0.90 so it doesn't feel like a racing game.

The most useful command for me was: r_steering_wheel 0 I use a steering wheel attached to my desk, so it's weird seeing a steering wheel in the game just in front of me as well. With this command, the in-game wheel goes away so I just have my desk wheel in front of me and then it feels more like I'm actually in the cab. It's just a bit of getting used to when turning the camera view left or right but I prefer it this way :)

Is there any other way of moving? I don't have a numeric keypad. 😕

Annoyingly I can't use F9. I've tried Ctrl+F9, Alt+F9, Fn+F9 and Ctrl+Alt+F9 with no luck. The console still comes up though.

Hay, since your video, the console has always worked, but I had briefly tested Ets2 with the Expiremental beta, but put back again. Since then, the console is no longer, but the Flycam already.
