funny how very simply composed pieces sound way more complex when we are the audience ! The guitar seems to carry this little secret. Same played on piano would be thin . Somehow the guitar makes it like a mini orchestra ...Great execution Edson...

No, he is playing it allegro (roughly at 132 bpm, I checked with metronome). Presto is much faster than this, like 170-180 bpm.
@TSgitaar5 жыл бұрын
@César E. Vizarreta Pizarro Not sure what you are asking me exactly, but I think that tempo is somewhat subjective. We don't know for sure if these old composers did use metronomes to determine the tempo. Allegro means 'lively' and is a 'fast' tempo. Personally I like to use the metronome when studying a piece, but I know plenty of players who never use one. Its all good, as long as you play music beautifully.

Don't ever sigh! Look to the GOOD SCORE of the MUSIC for a personal approach. Interpretations remain interpretations (of the player!) and the composer's intentions (technical illustrations + melody) lie in his score, in the absence of his person. Be guided by his spirit then!

How can this piece be intermediary? My guitar teacher has played this piece in front of me at least two times faster than this video with super precision and clarity. And yet he said that this piece is advanced level even at the tempo displayed in the video (which I believe is the best way to play it). But it is not intermediary! I have to study it for my Bachelor entrance examination and it is way above the difficulty required.
@MeskDaKrull7 жыл бұрын
Learn it slowly at first ofc. As long as you have the righthand technique, just learn it and practice it until u have it at the speed you want. I never played a classical piece and started learning it just now, playing it at half his pace but it still sounds nice.. x)
@donkeypoo997 жыл бұрын
This is an advanced piece? I only played classical for one year, my first year of college, and this was like the 3rd piece our guitar professor had us learn.
@m.g.60817 жыл бұрын
Tommy Shannon It's not about the difficulty a written piece has. It's about how you play it. This piece is supposed to be played the way Edson plays it - and that is light years from average. Did they have you learn it so perfectly with the fact that you grabbed the guitar only few months ago for the first time? They probably give you this material because it's healthy to know such a song from early on so you can practise it over the years and become better. Hence why it's called "Etude" - it can be given to even basic or average players but once they learn how to play it like this, they are ADVANCED.
@primeministerofgreenteam19837 жыл бұрын
I picked up guitar last year, and I'm a good distance into the piece at about half this speed. Given some time I could probably get there.
@silverhopeful7 жыл бұрын
Most classical guitar teachers have their students learn the Carcaussi 25... or some of them. My teacher has me working on this right now and I completely agree with you. He told me it is much easier if you get the chords down first. I did that for a week and now I am trying to memorize the arpeggio. I am on my third week and just starting to get it smoothed down. I started playing from scratch(meaning never learned the guitar and how to read music for it)and this piece is not so easy. I am just an average learner and not a natural musician. Some of the other studies are easier. Personally, I love 19 and I learned it by myself.It takes several months to get an advanced piece down if you are not an already advanced player.Even though I have put the time into learning some advanced pieces certainly does not make me an advanced PLAYER, just a hard worker. 3 hours a day minimum if you want to move ahead. Good Luck.
