I agree - he is ferociously protective over his squad, so I understand his rage. Not only had Alaatoa gone for him throughout the game, but the antics from both weeks on wallabies side just pushed him too far. There’s nothing quite like South African passion…and rage.

I only played rugby at low amateur level, but loved ever minute of it in the 1980-90s. You could get into a brawl with someone and have a pint after the game. Great memories and many friendships made. After 80 minutes everyone socialised and forgot their cuts and bruises. No other game compares.

Hooligans on the field, gentlemen in the locker room. I'm from the USA and have gotten so fed up with the diva millionaires in the NFL that are constantly whining or camera mugging after a score as if they were the only player on the field. I switched to watching Rugby and it's examples such as this one set by these two players that will keep me a fan forever. Maybe some day our Eagles will be more competitive. At least our 7's team has some decent talent.

Mapimpi did nothing to deserve a yellow card. To say he started the handbag swinging as a reason is ridiculous. If the ref did his job in the first game and carded that illegal tackle and awarded the try none of this would have happened. None of the Southern Hemisphere teams are showing consistency which boggles my mind. Still anyone's championship.

Mapimpi gets a card yet Koroibete who again tackled with no arms and just led with a shoulder goes unpunished. Etzebeth was OTT by Alaaota tried to eye gouge him which also went unpunished. The refereeing is a joke.

There are a lot more times through the years these two have been going at it. Built up aggression over the years and in the game, so many times Ala'alatoa got under Eb en's skin in that game. Eben had enough, those eyes told the story haha.

What actually happened was earlier Allan ran past eben as he layed on the ground after a tackle, and Allan's knee hit eben on the back of the head. Looked like he did it on purpose

Yet again Koriobete did not use any arms in his tackle - he just tried to shoulder charge Mapimpi. He should have been carded for a second week running and the week before he committed three head high hits that went unnoticed. No wonder rugby has a serious concussion problem.

@@euanwhaanga2980, Delusional. Koriobete leads with the shoulder with no arms; the arm only touches Mapimpi because Koriobete went straight through the South African wing. What do I know though? I have never put in a solid (illegal!) hit. Let's read what Nigel Owens has to say about it. He evens explains the tackle rules for you, which you may find it useful. "I have looked at it many times and I’m finding it difficult to see this as anything but an illegal tackle by Koroibete. To me, he leads with his shoulder and his arm is tucked down by his side. There’s not an attempt to wrap, for me. What happens in a legal tackle is as the shoulder makes contact your arm then, in that split second, is simultaneously wrapping at the same time. Your arm is out ready to grasp and as the shoulder hits the arm clamps around. But, if you look at the moment when Koroibete’s shoulder makes contact, his arm is down by his side. It’s not in an action or an attempt to wrap. That is the key. I can’t see a simultaneous wrap with the hit of the shoulder and that’s why I think it’s foul play." Would you think that tackle was legal if it were made on a NZ player? Just trying to figure out whether you don't understand the rules or you are just a cheat.

Players don't get yellow cards for having crazy looks in their eyes. It should have been a yellow card and penalty try last week for no arm dangerous tackle. Mapimpi got revenge strangling the culprit. Worth his yellow card. If the ref doesn't act properly, that's what happens even a week later. Totally the refs fault.

Went to Japan for the 2019 RWC and was stood next to Allan Allalatoa in Nike Tokyo, the morning after their game against Wales… he was waiting for his teammate to buy something and I was browsing next to him. Didn’t realise it was him at first but he was honestly MASSIVE. I didn’t think he was that big until I was stood next to him - not a giant height-wise, just a HUGE unit of a man. Surprisingly defined and with cannons for arms, which aren’t immediately obvious when he’s on the pitch… Can only imagine how strong etzebeth must be.

There is something seriously wrong in officiating Rugby Union despite the fact of the technology available. One ref, two AR's (If you can call them that) a TMO + assistant, a huge big screen and still they get it wrong? I'm sorry to say but to me it seems like who's playing? The money involved in sponsorships, TV coverage funds, you name it, money talks. Not long ago their was complaints re to much time spend reviewing incidents. Now the TMO got so involved in reviewing incidents showing the ref on the big screen especially in the Boks tests. As example I have not seen this in any All Blacks tests happening unless the ref requested a review. The same goes for AR's in Bok & Argentina tests. When SA Rugby requests answers to certain incidents (which by the way was incorrectly called or blatantly ignored) they get penalised EG Ressie's video which I thought was great and all he asked was for explanations that's all. He was not running the ref down not at all, just explain these incidents that left one team bemused? We all know what happened to him. Then while I'm at it. How interesting when N/H refs are in charge how the All Blacks get penalised big time transgressing rules for which they got away many years especially in then S/H. Suddenly a S/H ref in charge AB v Argentina and the roles are reversed? Then the ex Captain of AB's Keran Read said after their defeat V Argentina the the ref was new and running around with the rule book? Wow what a comment from a former AB captain, in other words in my humble understanding he is saying it means the ref makes decision as the test progresses? The incident /brawl that happened was due to pure frustration from he Bok team because of the incompetence of the ref the pervious week without a doubt. So say it was a fair tackle then I want to know what ever happened to the IRB's ruling of "Players Safety Protection" Not even a review, nothing wow that was a blatant mistake. There is something seriously wrong in officiating Rugby Union.

He pushed his opponent down after he scored the try, which usually wouldn’t warrant a yellow card but the ref had instructed both sides to avoid inflammatory actions, so that was deemed to cause the resulting ruckus

Poor. I still cannot work out what happened on the floor against the boards. The players blocked the camera. One aerial shot of the walkabout. One clip of eben pushing alaalatoa away from the mess near the boards. Why? Alaalatoa had his fist ready, who for? He was hesitant to strike eben. Note the first player scragged there was Big Valentini. I'd expect a reaction eh? Nothing. He was hiding something on the floor and eben seen it. Only a thought;)

Played in real time it was just a shove but when slowed down, it does look like a poke in the eye but not intentional.
