Can't. You need to be eastern/pagan religion to become emperor of china, and you need to be christian to be HRE.

You don't lose Emperor of China if you convert though. So you can become Christian and head west...

I'd say thats 99% of the players, we don't have this massive amount of money, but we love the game so much.

yeah. We're paying for the game's continued development, and perfection. For someone who has, for better or worse, logged at least a thousand hours across CK2, EU4 and Stellaris, I see this as an investment.

www.eu4wiki.com/Japan "Not all daimyo appear in the start year 1444; the starting years are based on the year they are in control of the capital province, and their cores are usually added earlier and can be released at an earlier date." Chosokabe is listed as appearing in-game at 1549 according to the wiki for whatever reason. According to wikipedia, it appears they were subservient to other daimyos until overthrowing their overlord in the mid-1500's. I assume Paradox is simply portraying this.

Neither Holy nor Roman right? I mean the oda didn't get independence till 1452 but there should be someway to just have them be a vassal in 1444. Then there should be a sengoku Jedai achievement

Oda was a vassel of the shiba clan until Oda Nobutomo executed him and after all the in fighting oda came out on top as the ruler of owari province.

>1444 AD >Date I wonder if those people asking for Date know when Date Masamune was actually born... the clan wasn't particularly relevant until his grandfather's time and even that was the mid-1500s. I'm hoping when you unite Japan, the ruler doesn't become the Emperor because that'd be all sorts of wrong unless there's a specific event to trigger where the Shogunate relinquishes control back. In this time period, it was either the Shogun with the ultimate authority or the regent of the Shogunate who controlled the Shogun like a puppet. The Emperor was little more than a figurehead or tool of the Shogun. It's why the Meiji Restoration was such a major event since the Emperor had practical power for the first time in over 700 years.

Wait!? That means one culture is possible! 1.You start as Golden Horde (or Oirat) 2. Conquer Muscovy, Novogrod and Norway 3. Conquer enough of Asia to become emperor of China 4. Now you are celestial empire governament type but nomadic tech group. 5. Form Russia 6. Conquer a shinto province and convert to Shinto trough Dhrimmi. 7. Stop being emperor of China. Let event trigger that changes you to a horde. 8. Embrace fudalism. 9. Get isolationism. 10. Release Muscovy and give it land in Iceland. Trough that you get Muscovite culture spread by muscovy trough collonisation, by you trough culture converting. That will be good!

If you want to play as Nobunaga, he became head of the Oda in 1551. The Oda became a regional powerhouse in 1567 after he took the province of Mino from the neighboring Saito clan. So pick a date near there.

You showed us new actions for the subjects, but all are large increases to liberty desire. Are there no actions except paying the prestige to placate that can reduce liberty desire? Especially now that the shogunate is much weaker compared to the daimyos, will we not simply face the old daimyo alliances that get 100% liberty desire almost immediately? With a mere 6k men for starters compared to some with 4-5k alone, meaning up to 15-20 in alliances, how are we supposed to keep a hold of the shogunate?

as a diamyo, you could gain tones of territory before the independence war. no clue on the shogun itself.

It's supposed to be impossible? I find that hard to believe. Playing Japan before isn't the easiest, but it was still doable since you had an acceptable army to defend against independence wars. It just seems like it will actually be impossible now, unless there's something I'm missing? Playing as Ashikaga now seems like it would be almost pointless. Playing as a Daimyo seems infinitely better. Is that really how it should be?

Athande with regular vassals, you get an extra force limit each. if the same is true with these, you can get around 30. this also makes you want to protect each one, since the less they are, the weaker you are. also, each one that isn't rebellion will be on you side, so if it say only 4 of them. with 20K, there many more vassals on your side, meaning more men.

If forming Japan in 1.20 is like forming any other nation (Mughals or Prussia etc) then it won't force ideas on you, you have a choice to accept them or not.

You need to annex and ally enough Daimyo to challenge the emperor and I assume the disloyal vassal rules still apply.

You can ally other Daimyo who have good enough liberty desire, and have them help you in the war against the Shogun. Disloyal Vassal Rules also apply.

Because it's just japanese cartoons and like cartoons from any country, there are many different types. The only real difference is that Japan has much less of a stigma connected to adults watching cartoons which means that there are more of them aimed at more adult audiences.
