Raul was a symbol back in his days, i think you understood that he draws a lot from American culture from that time, this is very right, he wanted to be a rock star, in his biography says that when he was a child he kept random stuff (like one gum) to be kept as remembrance from him. All songs from his first albums were written in collab with Paulo Coelho and he managed to embody that rock and roll spirit.
