EU Sends Ghana 105 Armoured Vehicles to Fight Terror from the Sahel | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Europe to give West African coastal states millions of dollars in military aid. 105 armoured vehicles have already arrived in Ghana.
Ghana shares a border with insurgency hit Burkina Faso. Will the terror from the Sahel make its way to coastal West African states?
Will Europe also try economic outreach to stabilise Ghana's faltering economy?
Palki Sharma explains.

The beginning of the end of the peace, freedom, and security that Ghana has enjoyed all these years! Ghana has had no enemies and this idea of arming Ghana to fight an "imaginary" enemy of Ghana, is how these "saviors" start undermining the security in one of the most peaceful countries on the planet! Instead of "engineering" an enemy that does not exist, it rather makes sense for Ghana to continue with whatever she has been doing all these years for the peace, freedom, and security that Ghana has been known for!

When the Ghanaian left iare in power... Well, until Mahama got the ball, Ghana was non-aligned i.e. 3rd world. But you vote in NPP, expect them to make themselves a buffer State for NATO and put their people in harm's way. The Ghana armed forces under Ankrah were anti-Communist and Ankrah had to be sacked by Nkrumah for pushing his anti-Communist stance in the Congo. Busia kicked out Africans from Ghana on the West's say-so and run to the Americans in 1962 to report Nkrumah's working with Communists to train Ghanaian special forces; which resulted in the 1966 coup; our most bloody. This is something they keep doing. But morons keep electing them into office with the same exact results

We don't need armored vehicles; unemployment is our biggest enemy over the decades 😭 fighting unemployment and bettering the agriculture sector matters allot. What we really need in Ghana is new leaders. The current leaders seem to show favoritism, bias, and care more about their own group than the whole country. This is why Ghana is not moving forward. Even though we have many valuable resources, the government often cares more about their political party than Ghana itself. They keep unqualified ministers in power. We believe that Ghana needs leaders who think about all Ghanaians, no matter which party they belong to, to make our country better.

@@chillxxx241 I get this a lot, especially in Europe and I don't know how the narrative of "it takes a lot to do business in Africa so it's okay to exploit them" came to be . I guess that's the coping reasoning for many. If anything a lot of what people trade from Africa is grossly under-priced. Do you know how much France pays for uranium from Niger? And before you say ooh such countries should be the ones fighting for what is right remember that's why most people are against taking handouts especially when it's not needed, because later this is used as leverage to get resources for cheap. Hence "risky" and "expensive" is hardly the case. Like laterally France controls the cefa currency used by some of these countries. Like literally control one of the key drivers of economies and France in this case is the one taking the risk? Come on.

@@eddymens1873 There is no excuse for what France did. Many of those companies in Africa were under criminal probes or going through bankruptcy in France. The cost of doing business in Africa is not an excuse. It is very real. You also have to factor in the OPEC+ cartel. The risk of doing business in the US is way less, but OPEC lowered prices drastically when the “Shale boom”started. Half of the industry went bankrupt and they didn’t have to pay the high costs of security or logistics of African countries.

Another deceptive gift. By the way how do armored vehicles solve the economic problems of my country Ghana 🇬🇭. Wouldn't it be more sensible for EU, France especially to stop feeding off African resources for their selfish gains and offer fairer market values for our natural resources. Africa demands fairer trade and not tainted gifts.

My theory, is something has happened in Burkina Faso and other Northern countries that we've actually experienced here in Ghana in the 1980s; Rawlings, Sankara. A junior officer-led coup. The third way the West has yet to figure out how to corrupt. Very different ball game from a General-led coup which simply requires ordering troops who arent clued in on why they are taking over, like happened in 1966. A junior-officer led coup becomes a revolution because captains and lower need to have singular leadership mettle and universal respect from the lower ranks to command them against the standard military hierarchy (Which often mirrors class and hence is it's not just a toppling of the leadership, but bypassing the rotten beurocratic top brass). A very scary prospect for Europe, since junior officer coupists usually can't be bought. At that age, they are more likely to be idealists and boyscouts and here's the kicker; left leaning, anti-Capitalists. Throw in a smidgen of Russian-Mercenary support or as it was back in the 1980s, Libyan support, and my guess is the EU is less concerned about terrorism and VERY nervous about the unpopular leaders they are propping up being toppled like dominoes during a time of economic crisis they created. There is no such thing as a free lunch, and Africans who think Europe and America will swoop in like superman to give us that much money because they love us are idiots. They are trying to create a buffer state against Russia knocking off their economic interests.

*The military equipment, which includes armoured cars, was seized from a Libya-bound ship last year by an EU maritime task force,* two senior EU officials told the Financial Times. The task force inspects vessels suspected of breaching the UN arms embargo on Libya. The EU has not disclosed the origin of the shipment or the previous owners of the cargo.

West Africa is a VERY PLACE for anyone to be, where do the terrorist get their finances? Have you asked yourself where the terrorist get their armoured cars as well, these cars are brand new cars THE BLACK MAN WILL DIE OF IGNORANT
