In this video titled EU4 A to Z - NOBODY Knows Brunswick Is THE MOST OP HRE Nation I do a playthrough as Brunswick in Europa Universalis 4 1.33 France. This is the series titled A to Z where I attempt to play every* nation in EU4 in alphabetical order. Of course I had to remove some nations so the challenge doesn't get too boring. In this video I play as the nation of Brunswick, and I attempt to establish the colony of New Brunswick, then form the nation of Hanover, then establish the colony of New Hanover all while dismantling the Holy Roman Empire. Physically south america isn't closer, but due to currents and winds it's a shorter trip by boat, which is why it's in your range

Well the medieval house Welf was the main rival of the emperors of their time. So killing the HRE sounds like a very longterm revenge

In most games Burgundy is the one subjugated by either Austria or France, so what I think you should do is either PU or Vassalize both Austria and France.

Since Butua was historically a Kingdom in Zimbabwe and Zimbabwe is known for its gold you should conquer all gold provinces in Africa. And yes, I know this is a stupid idea.

The most difficult part there will probably be grabbing the gold mine in Morocco, and hoping that Castile or Portugal haven't got to it first

@@simonandsimbagaming at that point, if you play a "normal" campaign, you are already at world conquest size. If you play red hawk strat though, no CB best CB.

Hey Red Hawk, you should get the "You Suck, and I HATE you!" mod. It replaces all scornful insults with "You suck! And I HATE you!" And it's Ironman compatible. It's just really funny.

Colonial range take into account prevailing winds and currents. That's what those little green arrows on the colonial range map represent. Basically, when you're sailing south from Europe, you hit the Canary current, which hustles you south along west Africa, and then you catch the North Equatorial current westward to the Caribbean Sea. Trying to straight-shot across the North Atlantic takes you AGAINST the North Atlantic Drift and the Gulf Stream.

I'm from Brunswick and sadly it is poorly represented in EU4. Brunswick is really rich in culture, the buckingham palace is heavily influenced by the brunswick palace and brunswick was very important in the napoleonic wars

They were also pretty wealthy because of silver mining in the Harz mountains. In EU4 they represent this with a iron province while the silver mine in Tirol is represented as gold. Seems very consistent to me..... (Probably Germany having as many gold mines as Mali seemed too much for the devs, but it's still strange)

That province isn't in Brazil, but on Suriname (another country), which was historically a Dutch colony.

Butua starts as a vassal of Mutapa... seems pretty tough. Butua also starts with gold in its capital... seems pretty easy. How about try to invert this by vassalizing Mutapa while not directly owning any gold provinces? Giving away gold provinces will also make it easier to acquire that elusive bankruptcy.

My last game was Brunswick -> Hannover -> Germany. Did it quite differently and went the HRE emperor route, but it was great fun!

Brunswick is very fun. When i did play them last time, in patch 1.32, i formed hanover, then i formed prussia and then germany :) But i dismantled hre way later, i didn't really bother allying all electors. Nice game, gg

Is there a speed run WR for dismantle? Because I’d imagine that would be a contender… RNG would play a big part - Austria losing the Emperor that early makes a huge difference

Hm, since Burgundy normally falls under a PU maybe you should conquer the other major European nation that also usually does that. So as Burgundy, conquer, PU, or vassalize all of Lithuania’s starting lands.

Instead of sending troops to the new world, you can just hire mercenary companies (preferably the free company or some cheap one) in your incomplete colony. Much easier and far more convenient, if a bit more expensive.

Brunswick is great, it is near the Lubeck node and actually most of its neighbors are weaker, it has decent ideas for the hre and for a possible imperial game (prestige decay, diplo rep and relations) and is the best candidate to form hannover, that imho is a very underestimated formable

The reason why those south american provinces always end up being colonizable earlier than north america is the mid atlantic current- ships can go farther making use of the current, and those two or three provinces are right at the mouth of that current!

The conditions are: 1) Occupy the Emperor's Capital 2) Either be allied with an Elector, or have the capitals of an Elector occupied So, given that he was allied to all the Electors (meaning he didn't need to occupy their capitals), and had the Emperor's Capital occupied, he met the conditions

South American isn't "closer" but the currents of the Atlantic directly head to the Caribbean. The Triangle Trade that Europa has is pretty accurate in game, imagine the flowing current like a gigantic lazy river that heat towards the equator then cools from the northern pole. Way easier to travel. Its why the colonies (not just England's) had so much power so quickly on a geopolitical scale because of the slave labour cheaply that built up the foundations of many nation in the new world in what would probably be valued in today equivalent worth of up to trillions of dollars. Said slave labour provided from Africa that from thereon sold crops like sugarcane and other "luxury" food items to Europe. If the flow of the Atlantic was anti-clockwise, well Europe would most likely have lingered in new world politic from far far longer with much more control.

eh i wanted to say that for cologne video you should be a top colonizer or something but then realised that this "joke" doesn't make sense in english For explenation in polish "Kolonia" means "Cologne" the city and "kolonia" means colony (idk how it is in other languages)
