I have certainly struggled finding the right spot for my clark bio3 pads. My first wheel so it's taken a bit. Thank you for sharing this video it is very helpful.

Good tips. I did try that heel tight approach, but it wasn't high enough to get good braking. Good tutorial, overall. These ideas you have when put on video do help out, wish I would of known some of these things from my start. I know what you mean with the toe thingie. Problem with me is I like it tight but then I have a hard time getting out quick. My compromise is to have it tight like you also like it but when not really needing it tight I ride in a type of duck stance. Nice boots. Thanks

Hi Tim! Reading your comment sparked a couple more thoughts in my head. I do keep my right foot super tight and my left foot just a bit less tight, that way I can crank my right foot in before mounting and then my left foot doesn’t have to try super hard to get in when I’m stepping on. When I’m crashing I typically try to stay in the pads I’m afraid if I step out I might twist an ankle or knee. But when I do want to get out of the pads I do a kind of pop out and twist on the ball of my foot to get my heel out first and then pull the toes out. And as always my experience is all dirt I don’t know anything about riding street or how that might change things 😬

Great explaination....I needed to know that technique you got going on the crash side of things. What I have done on my dirt wheel is also remove the two peddle studs just outside by foot area that is not under my boot. That way went exiting the edge of the boot doesn't catch the studs. I was wondering if you still had the same type of setup for street and you answered that.@@trubttam

I slide a piece of paper in between the Velcro. Then you can get them in place move them around really easy. Then when you get it in the right spot, just slide the paper out of the way, Walla.

I mentioned this as well in the description, I've used that method in the past but my pads always seem to move when I am moving the paper out.

I bought enhanced block pads that are wider and go down farther and that's a big difference

That is mentioned in the video description (I am starting to realize nobody reads them 🙃). It does not work for me, the pads always move slightly as I remove the paper.

Thanks for the Pad placement tips! I've been rocking super locked in on my right foot on my extreme and have been surprised how well the pads will rip off/shift off during an off-road crash. Being so locked in has felt super confidence inspiring. What kind of tire pressures are you running in your 241s? I already have my lynx's shinko sitting at my house... I'm just awaiting the wheel now, lol.

I get gnarly speed wobbles at those kind of pressures. I run my Kenda nobby all the way down at 20 psi.

@@trubttam no, I got the speed wobbles going pretty fast on the asphalt. Riding dirt trails all the way up to Black diamond mountain bike trails, in my opinion, is where the Lynx excels. I can't believe how good it is off road. I don't need to be speeding around on the streets anyways. Off-road is an absolute blast.

Are those the new boots? Would love to see a review of them and opinions on boots.

Yup new boots, Dainese Axial D1. I’m still getting used to them. They have a full carbon fiber ankle brace inside and they are still very comfortable and easy to put on/take off. The rigidity of the sole is the biggest thing to get used to, and they have a raised heel. Couple more weeks I’ll have a verdict 👍

Having your heel locked in like that isn’t going to be a problem for seated riding?

You forgot to talk about proper use of functionality regarding certain components while being relatively respective in relation to the angle of the dangle perpetually perpendicular to one's own subjective placement in this know universe.

Shit dude you're right I'm gonna have to schedule a reshoot, rewatching the vid now I can see I got ahead of myself and totally skipped the part where I wanted to remind those who may have forgotten that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration and we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. The fundamentals of pad placement! 🤦‍♂

Why do you prefer not having the jump block that doesn't move from veteran? BTW are those mx pants hot? Thought about it but it's already too hot with all the gear on
@trubttam
@trubttam 6 ай бұрын
I cant put the toe block exactly how I want it I'm really picky about how my foot is on the pedal. I haven't gotten to use the pants on a hot day yet but they are loose fitting and have a bunch of zipper vents to open up, so hopefully not so bad.

@@trubttam but doesn't the toe block move more than you want after enough jumping?
