I’ve been using the Euclid probe on my Railcore 300ZL for 8 months now. I’m very happy with it. The Railcore MIC 6 bed has very strong magnets and it can mess up readings from the BLTouch. This is one of the strongest arguments for a probe like the Euclid.

I've been using it on my voron, after tuning, its extremely reliable and I've had no issues with false pickups, ideal mount for the voron 2.4 is bed mounting and with auto z calibration, it's really dead simple to use. If mounting to the bed, then a few steps are needed to dock it -- after homing and doing quad leveling, i home z again to establish relative z 0, this ensures that the probe can be safely docked. Then do the auto z calibration, and mesh if desired. If mounting to the gantry, there is no need for extra home z, but it's a bit more risky since the probe can be possibly picked up in odd printing motion, but even in that scenario, the motion is very specific, so it's extremely unlikely in either mounting setup.
@Jesus60002 жыл бұрын
Euclid for me, is making up 1 half of my auto z calibration. At print start, i heat my bed, and my nozzle, making sure to deal with any ooze through a nozzle scrubber. The nozzle itself homes to my z endstop. The probe then homes the shoulder of the microswitch to the same endstop, and the bed. This means, all you have to tune is the offset between shoulder and trigger point of the euclid microswitch. Any changes in build surface, nozzle or temperature, are all accounted for. I honestly think this is 1 big step in useability that makes 3d printers much more friendly for the common users. Id love to see it done on a commercial printer.

This way the probe is already in position and even if you shutoff the machine and lose home when you turn it back on it's ready to rehome without user intervention.

You can't print with the probe attached to the print head, that's the whole point of making it detachable. A mechanical probe needs to be lower than the nozzle in order to touch and probe the bed. That's why the BLTouch retracts it's probing pin.

Looking at your stow/deploy macros, it looks like the deploy is state-dependent and hence failure-prone. Run that deploy macro with the probe in place, and the probe will either fall into the bottom of the printer or stick randomly to something on the print head. Would it be safer to deploy by running the stow moves first? Especially if you're remote-starting jobs, you can't be 100% certain of the probe state, and for the sake of two extra moves it seems like it would add peace of mind. (Running stow with the probe already stowed would appear to have no consequences.)

I can't imagine this taking more than 5 minutes to put together

The BLTouch also needs to be assembled..? The arguments people have against this probe are so weird. I have several printers. They look different and have different capabilities, which makes different probes the better options for different printers. No probe is perfect in every situation, but I can tell from experience that the Klicky probe is a hell of a lot more reliable than BLTouch, and takes less time in the long run since it will never catastrophically break and force you to buy and reinstall a new one. I have not used an euclidic probe, but is has the same functions as a Klicky. You could probably have installed an euclidic probe to your printer in the time it took you to watch this video, so I think maybe you should reconsider how you spend your time-money.

I'm using BL Touch replica + plain glass bed for more than 2 years with 0 problems. This is a overkill solution for easy problem. Nice ad by the way...

Yikes, bud. You've had zero issues with your fake BLTouch but A LOT of people had. Maybe they would appreciate an alternate option just like this. Just because you don't need this does not mean others won't. He was not even paid for this video which makes it NOT an ad. Next time, refrain from commenting a useless thought you could of kept in your head. Thanks

Also, there are motherboards "old style" like my Creality 1.1.3 that require some modifications (like cutting 1 wire from the display cable) to get an ABL working. in this case, you can use the microswitch as a probe and z endstop. that doesn't require any modification since the z-endstop is default on any board. so.... no, it's not an overkill solution. maybe it's pricey but even if I gather all the components (magnets, connectors, switch) I'd miss the PCB part, that I have absolutely no idea where to get it. so to me it's a valid option

@@federico9292 you should go for 32 bit boards for future proofing that device. Buy what ever probe you like, then take notes about your fine adjusments... Cheerrs

@@federico9292 Initial development for Euclid was done an 8 bit Melzi, basically the same. You've actually got 2 pins available on that 1.1.3 board
