I tried out the Eufycam 3's a short while back and wasn't trilled with the audio/video stutter I was getting in IOS 15 on iPhone 14. A single quick blip occurred every 2 or 3 seconds. Downloading the video locally removed the stutter. ATT, not sure what device you are watching the footage on, but can you confirm if you saw this with this camera if you are in fact using an iPhone?

I've had a battery camera before and there was quite a Lag before it triggered after movement so most of the video was lost. Is there a LAG with this camera?

Great product review, thank you for taking the time to upload it. One question, if I connect the S340 camera to my Home Base 3, can I set up custom recording for up to 2 minutes. Currently, all my Eufy cameras have custom recording set up for 2 minutes max. I with they would expand it to at least 3 minutes which is what I used to have with my Arlo Pro 2 HD cameras from 6 years ago.

Hi so I got a blink camera it records for 30seconds then stops for 10 then records again what does this one do? I have bad neighbours so need it to record a lot. Thanks

This Cam has a couple of issues. 1. The floodlight doesnt illuminated while detecting any motion at night time. It looks like it does when the surrounding is extremely dark (as i move it from the street facing side of my house to my backyard to test it out). 2. When it connects to HB3, the transfer rate drops dramatically from 300kbps to 10-20kbps. I guess It could be due to it connects to the HB3 directly instead of going through your rounters. I have a mesh system in my house and the cloest router is located further than the HB3. Eufy support cannot provide a concrete answer. 3. Motion detect zone is not working, it captures all the motion even it happened outside the zone. I have spent days in setting it up, tested all the settings, in daytime or nighttime, but still couldnt make it work as expected.

I have had arlo for years but recently they force you to have a subscription to be able to view previous motions and tracking. I was skeptical of Eufy but after seeing this I feel this camera will be perfect. Awesome review

I have 4 different eufy cams and they have been great so far. You may need to buy the home base though where the videos will store

@@tayborden3780 they are good cameras, the only one I wouldn't suggest is the wireless wall light. The battery just doesn't last or charge fast enough even with sun. The 4k solar cameras have been great as well as the door bell. Has to be charged once a month though.

Are you able to finely tune the areas where the camera would begin ‘tracking’? I live on a busy main road so wouldn’t want it tracking every car and person that went by, could I however set a trigger point for it to just start tracking someone that entered my gate? And the rest of the time stay static in its default position ?

You can add activity zones, where to e camera will trigger recorder if but if you’re camera is facing the st and you also want to trigger cars you’d best leave it on full screen activity tbh

It doesn’t work with homebase 2 directly. You can still connect it to your local wifi, and it does have internal storage. The app will also work. But what you lose is AI detection and pet detection from what I’ve read and a backup of the recordings, this requires homebase 3. So it’s usable without anything else, but will have more features with the homebase 3. Homebase 2 offers no advantages as isn’t used.

How long is the cord from the camera to the solar panel? Do you know if it is possible to buy an extension or a longer cable if required? (I ask only because we may have to run a wire up to 25' away to get a good southern exposure angle for the panel, away from the camera. Do you know if the cable ends are standardized so that a third party cable can be purchased, if eufy does not have a long enough cable? Perhaps their might be some limitation on the length do to line loss.

There are two cords but it is just USB-C so you can always buy a longer one

What is the temperature range of the unit? Will it still work in cold -20F

-4f to 122f. They don’t say the charging temperature, but I would assume at least 32f. Keep in mind this is excellent temperature range for a lithium ion powered device that is highly exposed.

No it doesn’t. It works with HB3 or also works in its own, but would have a few functions missing.

Will it pick up vehicles going up & down the street. I live near a college campus, I need it to follow the vehicles as far as it can instead of just picking it up on the screen.

Yes, it will follow the vehicles. I have mine mounted on a corner of my house between the street and an alley and it will follow a vehicle around the corner when they turn off the street.

Can the camera be used with a mains connection - without the solar panel? I would plan to connect in to a power source in the loft. I have a full Eufy system and this camera would be perfect.. except the Solar panel is both ugly and cumbersome..

I'm pretty sure it can be, it's pretty much like a battery powered cam being constantly charged or topped up with the solar panel. So the main connection constantly powering it should work.

you would have to check the voltage and amp that the solar panel charges at and get a corresponding adapter to your power source, it connects via a USB C connection,

Usually there is an option to turn it off on other cams of theirs. I wouldn't think this one would be different. Has an option for ir on, off, or spotlight / true night vision

The s3330 doesn't have motion tracking but it does work good on this s340 camera.

@@investigator6203 from what I read in the app and manual is that the homebase controls some of the ai features like the ones I mentioned and stores all video locally on it. I could have misunderstood it though. I'll try to find the documentation about it

I have owned this camera for a month, it fails to detect, it's extremely intermittent when you can get it to detect. I have spent hours trying to get it to work properly. I even moved it from the front of the house to the back where there are no trees, and it is still a pos. If you have trees this is a 'no buy,' really, it's a no buy if you have any trees near its line of sight. I have no trees out the back and it's still a pos. I have a Homebase 3 too. It's a great idea, if only it were any good. Lots of people online have issues with this camera.

I ordered 3 of them two days ago, then I cancelled it before they arrived because of the crazy reviews this camera gets and only 2 minutes of live view before it times out, and it does not send notifications to Alexa, to many negatives there for that camera

Yes it does but if you don’t have the HB3 then you lose the pet detection functionality. It’ll still detect vehicles as well as people but with no home base it doesn’t have the AI features

I purchased this camera a month ago to add to my efuy set up. Its awful. I have it pointed directly at movement 15ft away and its not recording with sensitivity at 7. After 4 years with eufy cameras you really need 24/7 recording as you can't rely on eufy to catch movement.

I've just installed this camera and I can't fault it... yet. It seems to pick up all movement over a pretty large yard (.30 of an acre). Perhaps you need to play around with the settings. Mine is installed much higher than they suggest (up a makeshift aerial pole) at about 4 metres. I hate to say it, but I'm impressed.

In the uk most of the house are terraced, next to each other. That would be great if the camera have a dark glass privacy cover because all the neighbours can be flustrated while following the camera all of they moovement!

You can set Privacy Blackout Areas that won't record, this is a perfect feature for this problem.
