I completely agree with S.Coups here!!! Many 4th and 5th gen groups have done a phenomenal job and are continuing to slay!!! But I will say that with there being many 4th and 5th gen groups and with many groups debuting, groups may need to be as creative as possible to stand out in a major industry that only continues to grow!!! 😄❤️👏

S.coups said that while being in a group creating a strong teamwork is the most important thing, makes me proud as a fearnot cause lsrfm already are like the cutest sisters group.. they love each other so much and its only been 2years in the industry... but if we see in this sense ahh its been 2years already sense SSERAFIM debuted time flies... Le sserafim fighting so much more to go😢💙

S.Coups is my Role Model and i am glad to see him with my currnet favorite girl group member. I also agreed at what he said about younger Group and Actually Appreciated them with saying "there's no advice, only teamwork"... I don't know how many of you heard the story of Farmer and his Sons but thats the real point. If your teamwork is strong, Hardly any force will break your team... What a Great Leader Mr. Coups cuz he always put teamwork as his first priority ❤

I think the biggest challenge for newer groups nowadays is the sheer amount of competition out there. There are so many groups with an already established fandom that it is hard for a new group to carve a new market for themselves. Take BaeMon and KoF for example. Both had great comebacks but the companies butchered the timing. They both released their new EP during ILLIT runs of dominance and when ILLIT was done promoting their stuff, ZICO/Jenny released a new single, along with NewJeans and IVE comebacks. If they release their stuff at any other time, they will earn tons of wins and rule the charts. But as things stand, they have no chance.

I don't think YG or S2 (KoF) had any expectations from ILLIT. It was a gamble after run didn't hit same popularity as other survival shows. ILLIT were nobodies with a uncertain future when Youngseo announced her departure from the group. I can't blame the companies for have underestimating ILLIT. They never knew they were going to blow up before hand. After run I think Belift and Hybe are done with survival shows. Just do auditions like any other label under Hybe. Leave survival shows to CJ as CJ doesn't own Belift anymore.

@@hbrant I wholeheartedly agree. Forget YG or S2, even I dismissed ILLIT at first. I thought it was nearly impossible to achieve NewJeans' level of success for a new group. Turned out I was wrong. NJ used to be an anomaly, but it seems like Hybe managed to crack the code somehow. As for the Survival show, it's a bit hard to say, isn't it? Sure, the show itself is not popular, but the group turns out to be absurdly popular. It's like having subpar cards but still ends up winning big anyway. So should you stop? Or should you continue playing? But I do agree that they should pump the brakes for a while and go the traditional route. BigHit is certainly already in that direction with its recent global audition announcement. Maybe the other labels will follow.

Oh please! Baemon left a more lasting impression. Sold more albums in fact. Don’t be fooled by show wins. That’s a Korean accomplishment. Baemon has a much bigger loyal fan base than Illit. And Illit lost momentum by being exposed with their weak vocals where Baemon flexed theirs

@@jbiehl8478 That has no affection. Debuts for many groups stop selling at one point and pick up again when the comeback is near. Just be more mature with your analysis. Loyal fanbase has impact after two comebacks at minimum. Magnetic wouldn't be no 1 in every chart if their vocals from the start were bad. Around the time they were exposed for bad encore in The Show the EP kept selling and this was in early April it happened. Should have stopped selling by your analogy. Even during the week of Hybe controversy between MHJ and Hybe Magnetic was still no 1 by a landslide with more than 6M digital points ahead no 2 Gidle - Fate in the Korean Circle Digital Chart. 3 weeks in a row. Magnetic has been no 1 in Songs of Korea Billboard chart in 4 weeks. It's doing hot in Melon, Genie and Flo as well. Debuts are never good metrics for a loyal fanbase. It doesn't matter if it's Kpop, Jpop, Cpop or something else. It takes time to build a loyal fanbase. It's the discography of the group that impacts the audience. ILLIT with four tracks are not much to look forward to at this point. Not everyone likes Lucky Girl Syndrome and My World is just a short intro track. Probably Bang PD's most lazy debut ever as they haven't performed Midnight Fiction yet. It's a waste for Joo-hwan Noh who produced the song. Why even bother to hire him as a full-time employee in Source Music's in-house production team along with 13 (Score/Megatone) last year? 🤦‍♂️ Hybe are good at using their money but to execute it they suck. 13, Joo-hwan Noh, Wonderkid, Cashcow, 250 and the acquisitions of Pledis and Koz they got even more in-house production teams like Zico and Pop Time. Music line-up is always good, but the skills are lacking from the resources. Hybe has always bought their way. Bang PD is good at executing his storylines for boy groups, but when it comes to girl groups he doesn't know how to work with them as we see with Le Sserafim and their cancellation of Crimson Heart and ILLIT's encores in The Show and lack of performance of Midnight Fiction (heavily vocal based song). GFriend's witch theme when BigHit had acquired Source Music in 2019 was because Bang PD saw very little money from their low sales. He set them up for a witch theme to only disband them. When they debuted their concepts were cute and high-school refreshing. Glass Bead was their debut in 2015 which Bang PD gave them a webtoon in 2020, A tale of Glass Bead. It was from there they were going to disband soon if their sales don't pick up soon and labeled them as witches to sacrifice. Hence Crossroads, Apple and Mago have a meaning to their disbandment. The latter two were produced by hitman bang. It's a mess for girl groups at Hybe they need to sort out. One group to disband in 2021 and the year after to debut two groups and another one two years after. It's a bit too much for a short period of time.

Plus stop using Korean charts as your argument. If you haven’t noticed, there’s more people outside Korea 🤦🏻‍♀️ And remember Cupid was a global smash. Where’s 50/50 now? Know the difference between a popular song versus popular group. Lastly, BlackPink proved early on how important views are. History tend to repeat itself. The uneducated typically never learns from it. Get educated

For Seventeen and BTS it has always been a marathon. I don't like sprint careers either. Seventeen's leader always gives a humble and mature message to juniors. Teamwork is what ILLIT for example focused on in the pre-debut and it might have not helped their performance early on but it will help a group to grow and improve. ILLIT's first real test for performance will be next week on M Countdown Stage in Zozomarine Stadium at Kcon Japan 2024 in front of 37k fans and fans who tune in on other streaming platforms like youtube. Belift is testing their capacity now to see in what areas need to improve for the comeback. They will get another shot at Weverse Con 2024. When Seventeen and BTS debuted I remember Seventeen was slightly more talented than BTS. But it didn't stop BTS from improving. Their teamwork is what made them what they are today. Seventeen was not perfect either so they improved a lot too. It's when your skills have matured and your success is at the peak of your career. That's when you have established and a loyal fanbase supports you. General public is not loyal, they follow trends and don't buy physical albums. They download and streaming a popular song or single.

Seventeen was always more talented than bts. Bts only really excels in rap while svt all three which include dance, vocals, and rap as a whole. Since both can write and produce both get that credit as well.
