The video examines the distinctive sap and flowers of Euphorbias, touches on the creation of hybrids, then explains basic cultivation of these interesting plants.
The species included in this video are Euphorbia obesa, E. bupleurifolia, E. polygona, E. ecklonii, E. susannae, E. japonica.

Your enthusiasm is contagious! I have several varieties and have very cool Crown of Thorns hybrids which have volunteered over the years. My bupleurifolia are a male / female pair and I have been told to use panty hose to catch the pods when they pop this summer. I have 5 obesa because they were young plants, and I bought them all at once to be sure to get a pair. This is the first year I'm getting flowers. No mates yet. Excellent video, but BOO for your naughty rodents! Keep up the informative and entertaining work!

Thank you. Breeding species Euphorbia is one of my favourite things about this hobby - something quite therapeutic about playing the role of pollinator. Wish you good luck with those seeds when the season arrives!

Euphorbia is probably my favorite genus. Currently growing quite a few species from my own seed. Especially excited about growing some E. pachypodioides from my three mother plants. Euphorbia and Pachypodium are my two favorites for sure. Love your videos they are so informative and have great information!

Thank you! E. pachypodioides is one of my favs; I’ll do a video eventually on the Madagascan Euphorbias and it’ll no doubt be the star of the show. Good luck with your seed sowing!

Hi lovely collection, by any chance do you have a Pseudolithops? If so, how do you take care of it? I will apreciate any advise. Thank you 😊
@AridZine
@AridZine Ай бұрын
I do have Pseudolithos, yeah. They’re quite finicky! I grow them in a 100% mineral soil and withhold all water over winter. When the temperatures start to warm up, I resume regular watering.

Do you have any advice on how to get stapelia to bloom?
@AridZine
@AridZine Ай бұрын
I’ve never really investigated how to make them bloom because they generally flower very well for me over summer; never needed to instigate blooming. But if they’re not doing it for you, I’d suggest a few things: 1. Are they getting a cool dormant period over winter? 2. Are they receiving enough light and/or nutrients?
@jamesrosado8915
@jamesrosado8915 Ай бұрын
It's specifically my leendertziae, I don't have issues with my gigantea. They are in full sun, & get single digit temps in winter. I'm thinking it might have flat mites, as it has always grown very slowly.
