Euro Nymphing STUNNING Small Creeks | BIG TROUT

Күн бұрынI fished three different small streams testing out different euro nymphing techniques. I had good success catching a bunch of good rainbow trout. I also tested out the Traper GST Nymph Rod and Reel on the river. It makes a great combination as a euro nymphing setup.

Thanks, it is indeed. I have managed to borrow it again for a quick fish the other day and landed a couple of real good fish on it too. Handled them nicely.

Yeah I'm enjoying the Euro stuff. So many leader options. I have recently tried a setup from a Spanish friend that is very very good but not legal in the Taupo region only F&G but it is super effective so I probably will end up using that more when not in Taupo. Always up to learn new things

Yes, pity those bows snapped it up before the browns even had a chance then the second one spooked the whole pool. Have to go back and get one soon.

Good vid thanks you have picked euro fishing up very quickly I have been trying to learn and get plenty of snags or rock fish.you catch fish nearly every cast great going.

Thanks Stephen, I do catch a lot of bushes and rocks but due to the time constraints with the video I end up cutting out a lot of stuff. I normally end up with 4-6hours worth of footage. So I certainly don't catch fish every cast and the nature of editing (to keep it engaging) I do cut out a lot of the time I spend untangling and re-tying. We are just lucky here to have plenty of fish in the streams. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for taking the time to comment.

I had Traper rod, it's a Polish brand (im from Poland). I had previous gen model, called "Guide Nymph"

Great video, as well as the initial one! It took me a while to get the casting down, but I finally have. Devin Olsen has a short KZfaq video on casting that is very helpful. I am envious of the size of fish in your streams!

Must be a mission getting around those 3 different rivers. I fish the last one quite often but I only have luck at some of the bigger pools. Can I suggest video idea - how to read water for euro nymphing ?

It's a bit of a drive around but they aren't all that far apart. I like the idea and I have thought about it a bit but I must say when I do I find it hard to put into words and how to film it so it makes sense. I'll look into it again and see if I can incorporate some of it into future videos

Sick video. I noticed that u live in the Auckland region and travel hours to get to these spots and was wondering if u have tried the Wairoa River in Clevedon near Papakura? Its about 20 minutes from Auckland City and holds a decent amount of trout, with the occasional 4lber showing up. If you haven't tried it, I recommend you scope it out as it would be a good option on a day you don't wanna travel far.

Thanks, I have tried it and caught trout, but certainly nothing near 4lb. I actually made one video there but I'm not a big fan of the river, at least not from the McNicol road access. I haven't tried anywhere else yet. Any better closer to Hunua falls?

Hi Johan, did I hear a clicker on that trapper reel on the retrieve? Can it be turned off?

I'm not sure I would call it a clicker as such but yes there is a fairly soft click like sound when retrieving. It's probably a bit exaggerated by my gopro because I wind so close to the microphone. I will find out if you can turn it off but I suspect not.

I have seen you using chest pack a lot on your fishing trips, where have you bought it? Does it have a suspension such as a D-ring for the net behind the back?

It's from www.iloveflyfishing.kiwi but unfortunately no place for a net on the neck strap. It's been work well for me so far.
