Video showcasing a small comparison between the two most played truck games of their era. It's kinda a comparison between the father and the son. Euro Truck Simulator (1) was one of the first games I've ever played, and during the recording of the videos, it made me revive many memories with this game. Tbh Ets Traffic is Far Better than Ets2 traffic.. none of this switching lanes and breaking for no reason.

Specifically the naming. In ETS 1 there were no license for naming trucks so they had to make up names similar but copyright-free.

Man I have these two games, the difference between the two are surprisingly very massive from the graphics to the detail of every cities and how they almost resembled their RL counterparts. One thing I'm gonna mention that most of the trucks in ETS 1 weren't licensed but when ETS 2 first came out nearly 10 years ago, only 4 trucks (DAV, Ivedo, Majestic and Valiant) were not yet licensed while 3 trucks brands were became licensed (such as MAN (actually GTS was the first game to feature MAN as a licensed truck brand in the game), Scania and Renault) but in the succeeding updates, most trucks in the game became licensed. Great one on presenting the video once again! 😎👍🚚

The sounds in ETS 1 are super nostalgic for me since they are the same in 18 wheels of steel convoy, a game I grew up playing.

I played both Euro Truck Simulator 1 and 2. ETS2 is a huge improvement of ETS1, but ETS1 was the mile stone and the pioneer of virtual euro trucking... So big thumb up for both!

Also, the map in UK Truck Simulator is 95% identical to the UK in ETS2. If you own a UTS, visit the same place and compare the two games. It's been 14 years, but it still has almost the same landscape and road network!

At 01:40 physics in ets1 in the cabin seems much softer and smoother than in ets2

driving experience is definitely better in ets 2 by a MILE. i remember drifting in ets 1 non-stop. ets 2 was the first game scs software made on the new engine as far as i remember.

Keep in mind that ETS 1 didn't have copyright licenses to trucks such as MAN, Scania, DAF back then. ETS 2 has made it more realistic with real truck names.

Budapest, a part of the paid DLC, still uses content from ETS1 like the same road design, same sidewalks and some of the same fences. They don't know how to improve that, but they know to "support the current thing".

The steering wheel support also got much better in ETS2. in ETS there were a few weird glitches with steering angle and stuff. Sometimes when going into a turn at a certain point the steering used to snap to another position, resulting in you flying off the roadd

The truck dealer show room, new one looks not bad, but ETS1's is more classic, and looks more like we are choosing our truck.

Play both of them, ETS 1 is the foundation, and ETS2 is perfection. Don't forget for the first debut of ETS 2, some part of area in ETS 1 will be added in DLC. Something annoying when I play ETS 1 are, you can't have more than a truck, because you didn't have garage. If you want new truck, you should trade in the old one. Variations of trailer is included, where there is no Low bed, no car trailer. And then country, you need to pay some money for expansion to another country.

ETS1 was fun. The worst thing was that there were no company drivers to hire, so the player was the only source of income.

I've got both games. I say ETS 2 is much better than the first one. The first ETS was a bargain for me with 99 cents! I must say ETS 1 is so much smoother.

Steam has been giving 70% discounts to ETS2 and ATS, as well as DLC multiple times now. So I got ATS and 3 States for $15, and ETS2 and map booster (without Iberia) for $35.

In ETS1 the truck accelerates way too quickly, no matter do you have cargo or not, while in ETS2 it depends on weight

Some things did survive pretty long and are just updated a tiny bit. When it comes to physics I have to admit that ETS1 looks somehow better.... realistic or what I would expect. After seeing ETS1 again since years now it dug up some nice memories.

ETS2 has more eyesores since you see more man-made things and in higher detail. ETS is cleaner in this regard and is also more aesthetically pleasing. Also, ETS is far more simple and relaxing. The interface allows you to get things done quickly without wasting your time with a myriad of options. On ETS2 you have too many buttons and options and while driving you have distance and countdown to destination that can be stressful. These are two different animals, indeed.

na rok 2008 to je docela solidně propracovaná hra, klobouk dolů SCS, sice GTA 4 ze stejného roku je mnohem lépe vypadající, ale na malé české studio které dělalo hlavně hry pro jiné studia tak je to velký pokrok a na rok 2008 je to ještě lepší než by se dalo čekat, upřímně, stačí se podívat jak se posunulo ETS2 od října 2012 doposud, taky skok obrovský jak prase, a to se cení, že i 10 let starou hru furt vylepšujou, obnovujou a staraj se o ni :D

I played 18 Wheels of Steel: American Long Haul (which came out the same year as ETS1) and I can only imagine how bad the physics were. They were awful, you slide around like you're on ice.

its soo different to look at these 2 games. The first one looks boring bland without color grey depressing. whilst ETS2 looks colorful inviting and more realistic.
