This film is an impression of the fist commercial handling of the container vessel YM Portland at the Euromax Terminal, Rotterdam Maasvlakte, the 22th June 2008.
The EMX terminal has reached now the 1st capacity stage for 1 milj. TEU's annual EMX is designed for full automated container operation. (except the special cargo)
A unique document special dedicated to all the people involved.

Really well planned and well operated by two automatic main equipments: Rail mounted gantry cranes and Rubber tired gantry cranes. Great..

+Edw S No rubber mounted gantry cranes at EMX. Only rail mounted automated stacking cranes (ASC's) and automated guided vehicles (AGV's )with rubber tires

The goal is much higher than 25 Moves per hour. This number will increase considering that a lot improvements are on going on this new Terminal. Also that this number is including stacked and ready for delivering.

In a short while 3 AGV lanes will be operational under the Cranes (currently only 1) In addition the second Crane trolly shall put in operation. This all together will not be marginally but significant !!

In de eerste instantie is dit bedoeld als hommage aan de medewerkers die er aan gewerkt hebben. De landzijdige afhandeling maak ik pas wanneer het wat drukker wordt. Er is in het hoofdgebouw een kantine op de eerste etage mocht je erge nood hebben. als je m in hd wilt zien ga dan naar mn webside die vindt je door op mn foto te klikken. mvg Hans

Hans, laat je me weten wanneer er weer eens een "giant ïets" voorbij komt? Vorige keer heb ik het grootste containerschip gemist.. Zo was die er ... zo was die weer vertrokken Groetjes, Frank.

Don't think so..this week-end a turnover of 100 containers in one hour with 4 cranes
