No no no. Not German blood. Duitsen or Dietsen. Germany didn't exist when this was written and it wouldn't exist for nearly 3 centuries. Duitsen or Dietsen refers to 'the people'. He is of the blood of his people. Dietsland/Duitsland was a name for a whole area covering parts of what is now Netherlands and Germany. Just like the low countries was a name for parts of modern-day Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and northern France. The blood reference had nothing to with Germany.
