Europe's LARGEST High Alpine Meadow ALPE DI SIUSI (and our first expensive travel mishap!)

On our second full day in The Dolomites, we decided to visit Alpe di Siusi from the town of Ortisei. We took the gondola that we had access to from the Gardena Cards we purchased. But, we had a little mishap while trying to get back to Ortisei... Learn from us and don't make this mistake!! We still had a good day though! Alpe di Siusi is gorgeous and huge and breathtaking!
We're Colton and Nikki, husband and wife, who didn't want to settle into the "default lifestyle" and decided to go on a great adventure. After saving for a year and a half, quitting our jobs, selling all of our stuff, and buying a one-way ticket, we're traveling the world to go beyond the norm. We quit our jobs and did 6 months in Australia and Asia. we just honey mooned in Val Gardena amoung other places in Italy and Paris. too bad about the gondola and chair lifts.

very helpful.. We are planning to visit late March 2023. Staying at Siusi just below the meadow and either taking the car before 9am or bus. Expecting snow at the Alps di Siusi- We now subscribed!!

How many days after you visited did you upload this? We're going to be there early September and wondering if the grass will be brownish/yellowish then.

The grass will be green from spring April to September, in October it starts to turn the color. Also, probably its best to visit between June-August (the hottest months) if you like sunny days :)
