Europe’s most SCENIC train ride and STUNNING fjord cruise! We fell in LOVE with Bergen! 🇳🇴🚂⛴️

Bergen in Norway completely stole our hearts. Not only is this beautiful city a wonderful place to be, but the journey there on the train from Oslo really is something else.
We rode on the Bergensbanen train line through snow-covered mountains, sailed on the Mostraumen fjord cruise and explored Bryggen in Bergen's old town.
To add an extra special layer to our visit, we saw the New Year in before riding the Fløibanen funicular to the top of Mount Fløyen.
It's not an over-exaggeration to say we completely fell in love with this place. So much so, it's become our dream to live here one day!

Why so many people coming to Bergen forget to visit the really amazing Fantoft wood church? It s surely one of the top3 of the "must-see" in Bergen.

Yeah, trains in Norway has been notoriously shit ever since the last train "reform". I'm sorry you had to experience that, but happy you made the best of it.

Moved from the UK a few years ago, and live on the island of osteroy, and you can see my house from boat on that fjord cruise. Best of luck to you on future travels.

Wow that's incredible! We are both seriously considering moving to Norway in the future when we finally settle down. It's just the most stunning place and a great country. Good day my friend, one issue was with getting a D, number, (socal security number), you need a work contract first to get your D number from the tax office, and can't open bank account without the D, number first, I don't know where you're moving, from, if you're coming from outside of EU. There could be other requirements needed. I hope this helps, Good luck my friend. 👍

@@chrisottaway7306 ahh I see! Thank you for the info, that’s good to know. We will certainly be doing a lot of research before any big decisions. We will hopefully have an Irish passport by then too, so that should help a little with the EU issue!

15:01 It's actually pretty close to correct. It's a "Ø" though, not a "O". "Æ", "Ø" and "Å" are separate Norwegian letters, not the letters in English with an accent.

Hahaha! Makes sense 😅 we found it quite funny but anyone on a tight schedule probably didn’t enjoy the extra three hours on the train 😆

@@BenandMarnie The new trains are actually from the maker of the replacement trains you were on, but a model actually built for long distances. The current Stadler FLIRT trains are built for local and shorter regional routes. So no cafe, not as comfortable seats and so on. That being said, they are usually running quite well and the toilets usually work fine.

@@BenandMarnie If you were in a hurry, you wouldn't take the train. I go Bergen-Oslo for work sometimes and I usually take the night trains for example. But a plane is like 2hours including getting to and from the airport.

@@HrHaakon haha most definitely not! But you can’t beat the scenery on the way, which was the main reason we wanted to take the train 😍😀
