A webinar on the new European Biochar Certification (EBC) C-Sink Standard, featuring Hans-Peter Schmidt from the Ithaka Institute and Ueli Steiner from Carbon Standards International as guest speakers.
The new C-Sink standard marks a significant step in certifying biochar-based carbon sinks, contributing to the sustainable development of global carbon sinks. By the end of the century, over 200 billion tonnes of atmospheric carbon need to be safely stored in various forms. Biochar sourced from sustainable biomass and pyrolysis technologies offers an effective C sink solution.
This certification helps to ensure the credibility and reliability of biochar as a carbon sequestration tool, thereby encouraging broader adoption and investment in biochar technologies.
The C-Sink certification is available to all EBC certified producers in Europe, the USA, and Canada. For producers in other regions, tailored packages are available to support C-Sink certification.
Learn about the new certification standard that, for the first time, offers a reliable method to verify the effectiveness of biochar in sequestering carbon.
