It's irrelevant. the 14th Amendment section 1 clarifies who are "people" and who are "citizens" the 2nd amendment says "..the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" As long as the person is here legally and follows the law, non-citizens have that right. Trying to take anything home with him might be problematic, IDK what Swiss law says on the matter, but it's probably not as restrictive as most of the rest of Europe. They have mandatory military service for all able-bodied males starting at age 18- he is a member of their reserves, with his service weapon at his home.

Accusing someone of drinking in a store where it isn’t legal to do is NOT a conversation opener. It’s rather of putting of being accused of doing something considered inappropriate in a store. Especially a store with weapons in it. The guy was like wtf of course he didn’t want to talk. Add to that an ENORMOUS amount of Christians especially Baptist don’t drink. I had no alcohol at my wedding because not a single person in my husband’s family drinks. We also have many people from other religions such as Islam who wouldn’t appreciate being accused of drinking. The Laredo entrance to the US from Mexico the road is very stark with nothing around and very easy to get in a bad situation on the Mexico side. The crossing in to the US there due to this and other reasons is rather strict. That Laredo crossing is known to be used by traffickers and the like. It's usually recommended to come in the California crossing as it has a lot more people and constant travel from Americans and others a like back and forth. It’s a much more touristy crossing. People crossing in the others often of course get to know the border agents otherwise the agents wonder why people would take a chance crossing at such a dangerous crossing. I saw a whole video by a journalist on this so this is what I’m sharing it’s not from first hand knowledge. So please just consider this an opener for further personal research.

Back in the early 90's my parents went to Europe over the summer for my dad's job (us kids stayed with my aunt and uncle in the states), and half of that time was in Lucerne and Bern Switzerland. They thought it was a beautiful place, but that the Swiss people were VERY rude and snobby. They didn't have a good experience, and didn't enjoy being there very much. However, they LOVED their stay in Ireland, and thought the Irish people were wonderful! My mom said she was so glad that they got Switzerland done and over with in the first half of the trip LOL. But, when I was in high school one of our exchange students was Swiss. She was pretty cool, was open and friendly, and we all liked her... so I don't know what to think about the Swiss 🤷‍♀

So the "Swiss" guy in the video has a strong French accent which means he is NOT the normal Swiss specimen at least not imo. 71% of the country speak Switzer Deutsch which is their German dialect. I made a point in an earlier video that Europeans don't even know their own gun laws. Switzerland has one of the highest percentages of private firearm ownership in Europe. They have a long and storied history of shooting and marksmanship skills they also have a well established firearm industry. This is not to say that they don't have many firearm laws but compared to most countries in the Eurozone they are very gun friendly.

When I first moved to TX, the first gun show at Pasadena was an eye opener? Guns all on the outer walls, arts and crafts in the middle, and a guy pushing a cart around selling mixed drinks and beer? lol really? i THOUGHT, HOLY SHIT, THIS IS THE STATE FOE ME? After a few accidental discharges, they made people pick up the ammo outside. Then later, they put in metal detectors. They used to let people drive with an open container, as long it was only the passenger consuming it? So, you would just hand your beer to your friend. Then the State came in and and said they would deny Hiway funding, so TX declared no open containers. Yeah, this is all real? Yep, you have to be a US citizen to buy. In fact, you can't typically buy something if you are from another state. If you want to do that, you have to make the purchase with a background check and they will ship it to your location, through another local dealer who is licensed, to pick it up there. The only exception I've found is many gun shops won't sell to people with ID from Illinois.

I have been caught off guard before (not by this but other ways and regretted my response), so I know how that can feel. I mean...if you have the credentials and right circumstances ( hunting license, sporting purposes, or very very specific government or policing cases) you can purchase a gun as a tourist or non-citizen. Getting it on a flight home, or across borders? Another story entirely. That's why you can rent their use in a range, which is the usual route. In addition- these are only the FEDERAL requirements. Each state and even each local government/town can have different and stronger rules.

Going to a gun range versus purchasing your own firearm or hunting license are two different things. You have to be a resident in the state or have a hunting license prior if you aren't a resident there. In other words a tourist or non citizen would not be able to purchase their own firearm.

I'm a native Texan, born, raised, and never lived anywhere else. I love my state. And we are friendly, it's just almost a requirement here. You can tell people who move to the state sometimes don't get it, and you do get your not so friendly people, but I would say 90% or more of us are just cool and would talk to you. The thing most Europeans don't get is just how big Texas is. For reference: .Texas is about 268,597 square miles. Portugal, covering 35,580 square miles, could fit into Texas nearly 7.5 times. This really puts into perspective how big the State really is. It takes us about 11 hours to drive from almost Galveston to Amarillo (my hometown). When the guy mentioned football, he didn't mean soccer, our kids grow up playing American football. From the peewee leagues at about age 4 or 5 to the high school Friday night games, it's a really big deal here. And you have the band, the cheerleaders, the dance group, and the players. And parents. If you only have one high school in town, everyone gets behind the team, even painting on windows to cheer them on. If they get into playoffs, the whole town turns out for it. There were 4 high schools in Amarillo and the rivalry between them can get pretty wild. I grew up in the "Hell Week" era between Amarillo High and Tascosa High. I didn't go to them but my boyfriend and best friend were at Amarillo High (I was Palo Duro High). The two schools would play pranks on the other school, which could get pretty destructive. Tascosa paint balloon bombs AHS with the Tascosa colors of red and black, so AHS returned the favor with their gold and black. So Tascosa burned the big T into the grass at AHS, and AHS (whose team is the Sandies) took a truck load of sand and dumped it at the front door of Tascosa. It really got pretty wild every year. That's how much football rivalries can mean to the schools. I live outside Houston. We have one of the largest rodeos in the country, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in a full month now of every type of animal on a farm, art exhibits from the high school kids, quilt contests, shopping and an amusement area with rides. But the highlight of the place is the rodeo and the concert after it. Big names come to play at the rodeo, a mix of country, rap, Tejano, and rock music. If you come to Texas, let me know, and I'll show you around the Houston/Galveston area. My degree is in Texas history so I have a pretty good knowledge of the historical stuff around here (and this is where Texas was first settled: Brazoria County). There's a lot to see and do.

Provided you can pass a background check (eg, no criminal record) any US citizen can buy a bolt action or semi-automatic rifle or shotgun. Many parts of the US (not Texas) require an additional police department issued permit to buy a handgun. The US government requires special, hard to get, and expensive license to purchase any fully automatic weapons.

Andre, I'm sure they have things with customs that would not allow him to carry a rifle or any kind of handgun to Europe, there are laws and different restrictions in certain parts of the United States about to purchase a rifle or a shotgun. It's related to the Second amendment. And most professionals in stores like that would recommend a course for somebody that purchasing a firearm. Texas supports the Second amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America and most if not all of the states in the Southern United States are the same. In the big cities and things like that there are more restrictions and laws in place.

I saw you seemed a little confused about the van that said "First Baptist Church" on the side. Since public transport is often unreliable, unsafe, or unaffordable many churches here actually buy a van (or sometimes multiple for really big churches) to transport people either for missionary trips, or for church sponsored events like conferences, or taking teens in the church to christian music concerts. In some cases they are also sent out the same as school buses to shuttle people to and from church on sunday in case people can't make it on their own.
