As for great ideas for concrete. . . The Allies built a harbor in sections out of concrete, filled the insides with air and floated them across the English Channel to a little seaside town in Normandy, sank them in place, and proceeded to send in the greatest landing force ever seen to take Europe back from the NAZI’s.

I knew parts of the story, about General MacArthur leaving his command, the men being taken prisoner, and how the escaped prisoners started a guerilla warfare which helped take back the area. I did not know about the US going back and blowing up the whole thing! That’s cool! That’s as good of a story as the soldiers cutting down the tree at the checkpoint.

People forget the Philippines was part of the USA for 75 years! It was shortly after ww2 , they asked for independence after a self-held election, and we said "ok'. So many people today are dual citizens. So Americans who born before they got independence are still Americans. So are their kids. Thats why there are so many Americans living in the Philippines. Now if Ukraine would have done the same thing......................

Gonna be honest, as an American I do in fact consider all of this normal 😂. Also! If you’re looking for other things to react to, here are a couple great ones! - Wayfaring Stranger (my favorite version is by The Petersons) - Go Rest High on that Mountain (original by Vince Gill, and great cover by Home Free, both are great) - Fire on the Mountain by Iron Horse - Am I born to Die by Nora Brown - Angels in Heaven by Chris Rodrigues and the Spoon Lady - The Eager Beavers and old 666 (another fat electrician video) Most of these are bluegrass songs, but they’re all great and the Spoon Lady is Awesome!

7:02 well that island never went anywhere but we have made islands...and mountains...decide to take a permanent vacation from existence but you need to watch his videos on the USS Wisconsin and USS New Jersey for that.

There was also coastal artillery on Corrigidor Island, on the other side of Manila Bay, so any ship trying to force the entrance would be in a crossfire. Manila Bay was taken by Japanese troops coming in overland.

After having gotten that response from alot of non Americans, I've come to the conclusion, that American Exceptionalism may have actually been a thing (at least in this context) It's either that, or America somehow generates functional, and pragmatic insanity noticeably more than anybody else.
