He was good, but was he good enough to beat Roglic? Roglic only focused on Pogacar.

Tim K. Ofc Roglic wasn’t able to overtake MA Lopez and take the stage otherwise he would’ve done that. All top10 riders were on their limit.

Diego van den Hemel I see that I need to elaborate - Lopez was riding away with Kuss while Roglic and Poga were waiting and focusing on each other, during that time Lopez already got a big gap, thus it wasn’t a fair fight between Roglic and Lopez anymore... NB I’m not saying that he didn’t deserve it, but that it’s far from certain that he was better than Roglic on that climb. It was Roglic’ own fault to let him get a gap that big.

Yeah, it was amazing. Hopefully it will return many times in upcoming tours. Super long climb and those last 5k or so are just beyond brutal, especially when they have already climbed for such a long time. The fact that riders just came in one after one rather than in groups says it all really.

Caruso wasn’t even setting a good tempo, you could see it at how wide the group was.

The diffence was that Bahrain rode s as a team. There is no shame in Landa not being able to exploit it. Roglic lost time to Pogocar when TJV rode their best stage and Kuss was surplus to requirements as Roglic made an error

Guy Gardiner Jumbo has the best team this TDF, but is just tactically inadequate. They should’ve tried to keep Dumoulin closer in the GC to use him against rivals, instead they let him do the work while Kuss is only following. Kuss is very good this TDF, but he does very little...

Jonathan Goliath If you’re serious, then you massively overestimate your knowledge about this sport. Tactics are important in cycling. But of course the cyclist also needs be consistently adequate, however that doesn’t change the fact that tactics are important. Bernald couldn’t have won this TDF, even with other tactics, but Pogacar could’ve won this TDF with other tactics. If Roglic had attacked more, he may have blown himself up and lost a lot of time.

Love it A lot of us Kiwis are TJV supporters due to George Bennett Unfortunately he has had injury and illness this tour but is still contributing as he can to the boys. I was yelling at the TV last night when they gapped Pog like I do when the Allblacks play

Agreed about the 3 heroes I think Sagan May be the villain of this drama as I saw him swipe right onto Bennett’s wheel in the last couple of stage’s which hints at significant frustration at his form and position. All his own fault and he can’t fix it until he overcomes his denial. My psychoanalysis from a mere 16k km

Lopez....wonderful...exactly what we expected of the other Columbians, too. And he has not finished, either. Pogacar needs to watch out, his team has lost 2 drivers, Lopez' team Astana is way more experienced in the mountains, even Roglic is not safe yet, that's why it was good that he chased every second at the finish.

not so sure here. Obviously Kuss went forward to win, but that trigerred Lopez to blow away him, Rogi and Pogi. At that moment the main goal has changed for Kuss and TJV. Also, for me Kuss was not in shape to cope with Lopez further.

@@jarrodfife242 my assumption was wrong. I have checked a short interview, Kuss gave to D.Crmelj from RTV Slovenia, few minutes after his finish of the stage, on 4th place. He said the goal of his jump in the critical moment was to change and then control rhythm of the group. (so, not to go for the win). After, he stays gentleman and loyal to the team: "I was not able to follow Lopez, so I took a breath and waited to help Primož."

@@Psysso would have been great if he wasn't trailing behind Roglic and had like 20-30 seconds advantage going into the TT. But due to crosswinds Pogacar lost 80 crucial seconds

@@zahed3021 Pogačar actually beat Roglič on time trial on slovenian national championship. And Roglič won the 2018 Time Trial on Giro d'Italia 2019 so... This should tell you enough :D

Is it just me or are these highlights vids deadly dull? I’m really not getting a feel of the excitement of the race, almost like the commentator doesn’t really care? No emotion, no passion at all, so dry!

Nothing can substitute the live experience, but true, they could be done much better, if they did 12-13 min highlights they could fit so much more important stuff.

that is danger situation, twice. Beside fight with the climb, Pogi had a fight with a clumsy crowd with no respect. At such kind climb and in Covid-19 situation, not to protect competitors from crowd contacts, is more than a STUPID mistake of LeTour organisation. But Pogi would have to work seriously on that, to stay calm. Othervise crowds would pick him more and more as an easy guy to provoke.
