It was quite popular in Belgium, being in the charts for 13 weeks, and every now and then it's still being played on the radio. It's a great song, and I can't believe it's been 17 years.

When I told a friend (who is not an ESC nerd, like me) that this is my favourite ESC song, she said: "Oh, that's the only ESC winner that I really like!" I understand why she thought that this song won. It really should have.

В этом году не юбилей, конечно, но ровно 24 года как я обожаю и смотрю Евровидение, где впервые увидела этих ребят. Дедушки уже нет рядом почти 10 лет. My first encounter with this band. Year later they had international hit Maybe. Biggest band in Latvia now, probably ever. A pity they didn't win in that contest.

To this day, this gem remains as my first ever Eurovision winner since I began watching this contest and forever my favorite Latvian entry of all time. ❤

I bought the eurovision cd in 2000, and this song was my favourite! I was 11 and I had it on repeat on my cd-player, I listened to it while i was going on mountain hiking. My family thought it was a bit strange to listen to eurovision songs on mountain hiking, but it was so precious; One of my best childhood memories! And one of the best eurovision songs ever!!

This song always makes so happy. Lots of rubbish has passed the Eurovion song contest but this one's a winner for me definatly.

Every year on the day of the Eurovision final, there is a top 50 on the national radio and this song is still 3rd in Belgium! Great song, my 2000 winner and 4th overall!

I love this so much! :) Still listening 16 years later. It is such an ordinary pop song (in the best way), with homage to the 60s/70s a lil bit. A well deserved third place for Latvia's first time of competing!

True that music back those days was a lot more lovely. These days it feels like everyone’s trying to beat others with a lot of vulgarity and songs about nothing (that’s the best case). Also, I’ve heard a version that after these guys got on ESC stage, everyone started to take this contest seriously. Like, there’s a band from a post-soviet country noone takes seriously and simply grabs 3rd place! Also, talking about exactly the stage, exactly Latvians were the ones who got stage design to a whole new level. It was a start to what we see now. Since 2003. Great job, BrainStorm guys & Latvians! And, Latvia, it’s your birthday today. So, happy birthday, you’re amazing! ♥️🇱🇻

It's remarkable how in just three years Latvia made everyone think they would be an ESC powerhouse 🥲

Really good song, great performance. One of things that stands out is how the singer is always looking to see which camera is ‘on’ him, then he turns to face it - it’s a tricky thing to accomplish well in a live multi-camera set-up (a lot of other Eurovision entrants don’t even bother), especially when the editor switches quickly from one camera to another and he’s trying to concentrate on singing as well! But it really makes it feel as if he’s singing to us, the TV audience, and the eye-contact gives the whole performance a very intimate feel. Superb.
