Eurovision was born a decade after the end of the second world war to help to get an united europe again. Now it is a big party in europe and every country that participate want to be the host of the contest, also it shows a message of equality and freedom. You can find very impressive performances from eurovision, not only from Spain. I recomend you "You are the only one" by Sergey Lazarev (Russia) or "Zero Gravity" by Kate Miller from Australia (Eurovision was so popular there that they were invited to participate in 2014 haha) Also you might like to know that the american version of eurovision is coming in 2021 as the American Song Contest hehehe Have a nice day! Pastora is a big singer. Is very talented. She sang with Mónica Naranjo the song: "Pantera en libertad" and it was surprising and exciting.

I am not from Spain but I speak Spanish as a mother tongue. You can be sure that Pastora was one of the best things that happened to Spain and Eurovision in the whole Eurovision history. Memorable, epic, iconic, remarkable, all the good things you can say. Unfortunately she placed 10th in the final score. It is a good position but in my opinion she deserved much higher, maybe a top 3. The winner in 2012 was epic too, unbeatable performance. It is a very very popular contest in Europe. Normally families get together to watch it every year and we take it very seriously so the songs and the staging are usually very impressive :)

Eurovision has become the non sportive event most watched in the world. it started as the way to connect different european countries and cultures. Nowadays it's the way to sell the country in a touristic way (all the performances are preceded of a video showing the different parts of the host country) - the winner is the next year host. Gal Gadot (wonderwoman) and Bar Refaeli were some of the hosts in 2019 Israel...or Daniela Ruah (NCIS Los Angeles) in Portugal 2018. You can only perform with another 5 people on the stage (it's a singing competition), and it must be a original song for Eurovision - instead on having lots of dancers, the countries have found in the tecnology the way to amaze the audience: nowadays Eurovision it's the reference for the USA singers - the new things/tecnology in Eurovison, will be part of next year stage performances in some USA shows. 50% votes from national jury and 50% votes from televoting - part of the votes are for neighbour contries of course: if you do the same, but with USA states...Texan viewers will have more conection with the states in the nearby. Celine Dion have represented Switzerland.....Bonnie Tyler UK....Il Divo Italy...Cascada Germany...Dana International Israel (she was the first transgender singer who have not only represented a country, but also the only transgender singer with lots of international number ones). Eurovision tries to give voice to diversity, and defend human rights: not only Dana International or Conchita Wurst voices...also Jamala, Ukraine singer with a song about tartar extermination, a song that Russia tried to banned....on the other hand Turkey leaved Eurovision because they did'nt want to show lgtb singers in tv,: to be gay its a sin/crime in Turkey

Eurovision is a kind of European competition that had included some asian countries and Australia. It has started like a bridge between coutries after the world war. All the coutries vote for one winner and the next year this is going to be the host. Every year the are a slogan that would represent the spirit of the country or the eurovision aim, like “celebrate diversity” for exemple. It’s not only a competition, it’s a way of life for the eurovision lovers. I’ll recomend the netflix movie Eurovision: the fire saga story. That represents this feeling. Kisses
