Portugal is my favorite. It's the song that I heard and loved instantly, then the staging works wonderfully for it as well, and it's not in English. Maybe it's because it was selected a few days after I started to learn Portuguese, maybe it's because it makes me nostalgic for my childhood listening to music with my grandfather and watching classic musicals with my grandmother, maybe it's because Salvador sings it so beautifully with so much emotion that you can understand and feel the whole song without knowing a single word of Portuguese. I love it and I want it to do well.

When I heard you say Portugal it made me cry. The minute he starting singing in the first semi final in Festival da Canção I just knew that that was the song we needed to take to Eurovision, even though it is sooooooo different from what we usually hear there and what usually wins but it was so perfect that it needed to be chosen. And now being one of the favourites and your favourite, it's just priceless. We might not win (though as we say in portuguese "a esperança é a última a morrer" - hope dies last) but at least we took something beautiful, that really shows what we are about and what we do and that will forever live within all of us and by us I mean anyone that has ever listened to this brilliant, magical song

I'm with William all the way! Salvador has a simplicity but a quality so big in his vocal part and performance, that transports you to a unique place, a place that changes person to person, but transpasses language, time and even ethnicities. I understand the lyrics, cause I'm a native portuguese speaker from Brazil, but I feel, like many songs of languanges that I don't understand and made me feel things, it's what music is about. The song is even more special because it has a hidden message...Salvador has a serious, life threatening, heart condition ...the song is about Salvador sister saying that her heart could "pump"/love for the both of them, as one...just listen to the whole lyrics...pure love simply beautiful
