I love Italy and it's a great song... but I get lost in the staging, I think less is sometimes more... both the costumes and the backgrounds are very ornate

True! But probably it gives us this impression because the video has been recorded from a certain distance. I think that cameras will enhance the performance.

the staging of Angelina is so beautiful that it looks like a French Impressionism painting ( f.e. Claude Monet). Admiring this work of art gives me Stendhal syndrome

If we are NOT judging the song but just the staging and overall visual (as stated in the intro) Italy is not the best one here, sorry! I'm not into the swedish song at all but to be fair I have to admit that Sweden has a very impressive visual and matching choreography, it's gonna look great on tv (as seen in the NF). Same goes for the Uk, I haven't considered it to be a contender so far and it won't win, but this staging has positively impressed everyone and it looks very cool. Italy looked good in pictures at first, I like the costumes (tho a long gown could've been a better choice for Angelina maybe), but it seems like it's hard to distinguish them from the background in this video. Plus the back dancers seem to have a meaningless choreography, it doesn't seem to match the music in this extract and what's with the pyros? Randomic elements put together imo
