Croatia, Ireland and Ukraine were my by standouts of Semi 1! I have just adored watching Croatia's journey, improving each and every time he sets foot on stage. They took what worked and just gave it upgraded tweaks like the costume. Ireland's Bambie Thug getting the stage they deserve to really give us something atmospheric and witchy. What can be said about Ukraine, epic as usual!

Bambie will be one of those acts that eurofans will remember forever even if it doesn’t win. Legendary.

I want to see Serbia, Portugal and Slovenia in the final ❤. As for us 🇭🇷, bravo Marko and his vocal coach, im proud no mather what 🥰.

About Ukraine: my interpretation is that Alyona is a “human being” warrior, she wears armor-shirt under her coat, she stays on the ground. Jerry is a goddess in armor , not entirely mortal human, she climbs up cuz she can do it as a non-human being (probably reference to Olymp?). Anyhow, the goddess is trying to protect the mortal, yet at the end everyone was/is mortal

I said this on the official ESC vid but got to mention here too - Standouts for me are Ukraine, Croatia and I can't believe I'm saying it but... Ireland. The song itself is not for me, far from it in fact! Though, the visuals, the creativity, the staging, them are utterly spectacular! Ukraine's staging is absolutely stunning which should not come as a surprise because it's Ukraine, but they continuously, somehow keep getting better! As for Croatia, it's like the almost perfect Dora final but now perfected to suit a bigger stage.

I CAN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT UKRAINE’S CLIP. They outdid themselves and ate everyone up. I’m not even a fan but I’m really excited for the first semifinal simply because of them. Well done, Jerry and Alyona!!

Here are my comments: Cyprus: I do not like neither the outfit nor the staging or the colour palette. It makes her almost invisible instead of focusing on her and her dance moves. Serbia: Here's the thing. I speak her language so I understand what the song is about. But most people won't. So I would have chosen a very visible, purple flower as the center piece and like a flower moment at the end as Ukraine did with the tree in 2016. Iceland: Super boring, nothing special. Slovenia: A little bit disappointed to be honest. Veronika Deseniška was drowned. They could have chosen water as the center theme of the staging and could have created something with artificial intelligence. Her coming out of the water as the strong surviver... Azerbaijan: I do not understand. Australia: Very underwhelming. My favorite: Ukraine

I just think it’s very hypocritical from EBU’s part to have criticized Ronela in 2022 for her look and choreography for being inappropriate (which it was), but Finland doesn’t seem to be getting the same criticism (or any, at all, from EBU). My honest thoughts. Cyprus - Kinda dissapointed in Silia's dance break, my expectation was WAY TOO HIGH tbh. Still keeping her inside my personal top 10 (and when i say personal i mean of all 37 songs, not just semi) Serbia - I can a NQ if im being 100% real Lithuania - Nothing we haven't seen before, it remains just outside my overall top 10 Ireland - Holy Shit...im speachless, this is amazing. I think it will qualify, i think it has a strong chance of top 10 in the final, and i think it might crack into my personal top 20. Ukraine - Biggest improvement. I am speechless. Outstanding. It gave me winner vibes. This was my 10th favourite song, and now i think it might be 5th. Poland - dissapointed at first, but the shot of the horse is so impressive. It left me speechless and confused at first, then i realized wtf is going on. Lots of people will have the same thought. I still see it as a NQ but good job. Massive improvement. Croatia - It was my 6th favourite song of the year coming in. I don't think it will win. They needed more, and unless they are still hiding something, i just really can't see it winning, sorry.
