Well, The real reason is that the juries are very.. Well how do i put it? Strict. In the live performance, when he walked away from the mic 2 meters away, His voice slightly cracked and that was enough for alot of the juries to take their votes away from him.

sans deconné, je ne suis pas très eurovision, j'écoute du rock et du métal au quotidien, mais pour une fois que la France a un véritable talent.. je trouve ça dommage qu'il n'ait pas eu droit à la victoire malgré sa très belle place au classement. bravo mec ! pour une fois j'étais fier du représentant de la France !

I don't know how many times I listened to this masterpiece but, one thing I can confess, each time I feel as if it's the first time I hear it and I feel those goosebumps and shedding tears. France should be the winner. A great, magic voice, with such a strong sentimental song interpreted by Slimane in perfection from deep of his heart and soul. ❤️🌹

Eurovision is not American idol, this is not a voice contest. This song is derivative, bland and has been done many times before. His voice is good but the winner had a better voice, better range and better performance, more complicated too.

The microphones that are used on stages like this are really good at picking up what they're supposed to pick up (and at what they're not supposed to pick up). It will pick up your voice even two meters away if you're in front of it. If you're behind it even a half a meter, it will not. The volume of the singer's voice does not change linearly when he comes closer to it.

Έλληνας μουσικοσυνθέτης που ρωτήθηκε σχετικά με το acappella.. είπε ότι έχει τόσο μεγάλο όγκο φωνής που δεν του χρειάζεται καν μικρόφωνο για να τραγουδήσει σ αυτό το στάδιο...Προσωπικά πρώτη φορά τον άκουσα και μαγεύτηκα...Μόλις απέκτησε ακόμα μία φανατική θαυμάστρια από την Ελλάδα...Ελπίζουμε να συμπεριληφθούμε στις περιοδείες του...Ευχαριστούμε το σύμπαν που υπάρχεις SLIMANE..και είμαστε ευτυχείς που σε γνωρίσαμε...

This singer took us on a roller coaster of emotions with just one song. His performance gave us goosebumps without any complex dancing or staging-truly a performer, not just a singer. He should have won. His vocals are breathtaking. I seriously got goosebumps. He didn’t humiliate himself, he didn’t have to be naked to amaze us, he stood 2 meters away from the mic and still sounded better than the rest. Eurovision is supposed to be a singing contest, not a carnival, or a theatrical performance. I hope he gets the recognition he deserves! ❤️

Вот почему я никогда не перестану смотреть Евровидение и моей мечтой будет попасть на живые выступления. Ну это же прекрасно! Такая слаженная работа мегапрофессионалов, такие песни, гармонии, звучание. Просто невероятное шоу. Не зря в интернете завирусилась работа оператора на этом выступлении, она же просто потрясающая. Во время самого выступления мне и в голову не приходило, что он там вытворяет с камерой. Настолько его работа обеспечила погружение в песню. Для меня, конечно, Франция победитель на этом конкурсе. Прекрасная песня и исполнение.
