Thanks, Walter! That's an awesome site, and bigger even than I expected when you first walked through. I would have liked to see a little more in the way of covering over at least some of the stalls, but I could see this being a great location for people to use when traveling.

Thx Eric. That was my thought too. Also, if there was a way to score for "bug free" they would of got a big red x. There was a swarm of nats while I was there. Enough got into the car that I was swatting the windshield all the way to my next stop. ;-} Thx 4 watching.

Really starting to look like those Circle K sites we experience vicariously through Bjorn Nyland's updates... all the better for having it on our shores and being reviewed by tNAC! Thanks for the look around and staying on top of the latest charging stations across your region.

I was just stopping by to see progress after a VA trip and was surprised to see it operational. It is a really crisp install and you are right, it harpens back to the TB dream world of Norway. Hopefully now that it has landed on our shores, we will start to be cool like the Scandinavians. Thx for watching.

Was there Tuesday night. Nice to see they added ADA signage for the Circle K charging space. The marked pedestrian crossing from the van accessible space for the Tesla Supercharger over to the sidewalk beside Krystal is a nice touch. Since the drive thru still blocked and the "coming soon" sign it looks like Krystal hasn't opened just yet. Noticed they'd added the menu items to the drive-thru boards. While I was there they were power washing the drive-thru lane.

@thenetworkarchitectchannel I just talked to a person at the Utah Dept of Transportation about NEVI chargers. They said the first NEVI charger went live today (June 19th) in Moab Utah. I confirmed there is a new EA station from Rocky Mountain Power (RMP)on the EA app. More are coming rapidly in Utah next week Park City and Millcreek are suppose to go live according the the person I spoke to at UDOT. All of the appear to be the RMP chargers and EA. I watch your NEVI updates, so in case you do not have the data yet on this I figured you would like to know. Thanks for the videos. I'm going to try to visit the PC and Millcreek next week.

Awesome! I know Utah was early to announce and hand't done anything, but sounds like they were just quietly taking care of business. Thx for letting me & everyone know. I am going to pass to my friend Steve at Plug & Play EV. He tracks NEVI more so then I.

Perfect site location along 95. Much needed capacity for the EV road tripping nomads traveling through NC. The new Site in Cary is a GEM too. Nice to finally have choices. Thank you Walter for your monitoring of CPO activity roll outs. It feels like 2024 has been a tipping point in the EV infrastructure in a very favorable way. My only road tripping frustrations these last 6 months has been with my 2015 RAM 1500 toy hauler, which is my last remaining ICE vehicle. I am beginning to take a hard look at the Silverado EV now showing up on dealer lots.

Was routed here by the myCadillac app but they wouldn’t let me charge. Some construction guy ran over and told me the chargers weren’t open. Arrived with 13% and had to reroute to Kenly. Hoping this doesn’t happen to anyone who can’t make it to the next stop.

Wow, that is an impressive site. Any idea how heavy the EV traffic is in the area? Exciting news. Trash cans are a nice touch. Didn't see any window washer/cleaning stuff. No pull through spots is a bad choice on their part. 49c/kwh with 43c/kwh that isn't horrible. Could use some covered parking, but still a nice site it looks like and food and bathrooms there. So that is good. Very nice, would love to see more sites like this. Looked safe and non-threatening which is a bonus. Certainly beats a Walmart parking lot.

Cool! I'm impressed with how NC is progressing. I hope my daughter in Charlotte will finally take my advice and get an EV! I don't think I see Magic Docks on the Tesla units. I wonder if they'll be designated NACS compatible on the Supercharger map…?

Sheetz #399 off I-40 near RDU International will have twelve V4 Supercharger stalls with Magic Docks. All those spaces are under a solar canopy. Wednesday morning the pedestals were still boxed and the v3.5 charging cabinets were still wrapped. Will stop by Tuesday evening when I fly back to RDU.

Super location! It appears that the gap between the banks of chargers may be too tight should lots of cars be using the chargers, but overall, it’s certainly a model for future large traffic installs, adding in the mention of having a pull through stall or 2 in the mix. There was one point not given because there are other chargers which exist within 30 miles. This seems counter intuitive, since DC charger spacing such as this is a good thing, no? How do we turn “lack of adequate DC charger spacing in a region into a negative when doing these site surveys?
@thenetworkarchitectchannel

The point is given to encourage filling in gaps by awarding a point if it is in a charging desert

Walter, I think it's nice you do the News Coulomb scoring, but please do not attempt to combine a Tesla charger and a public charger in a scoring. Like you say no CC reader for Tesla and short cords a big deal for non-Tesla vehicles. They would not rate the same,
@thenetworkarchitectchannel
@thenetworkarchitectchannel 8 күн бұрын
I struggled before starting if I should score it as one site or two. I have done many and knew the disparity that would be introduced. The goal I felt was not a laser focused score, but to bring a new site to the community with the scores providing a back drop for thoughts and discussion. I do agree with you though. Should my goal have been to be laser focused on accurate scoring, I should of made two videos or one video with two different scores. Thx for chiming in. I agree with you.

The display on the 180 stations shown at 6:15 has wrong units. It showed 5,134 kWh at 2min 10sec, that should be Wh not kWh or it should be a decimal point not a comma. Strange how a charging company can get that wrong. I know in Europe that "," is used as a decimal so maybe its a localization thing.

Great catch. A similar situation was on the chargers in Gaffney, SC that I visited shortly after activation. They will circle back to flash them with a firmware update to bring them up to rev which will correct and add a few additional features.
