I'm a cosmetologist and there is no way that her hair grew and locd that fast. She definitely added extensions. Her hair texture is very soft so it takes a long time to actually lock ..Not sure why she lied.

one thing I slightly disagree with is the part about the soft texture... I have three textures, and the soft texture loc'd A LOT faster than the rest of my hair. like A LOT faster. Yet, Im not sure why the lie occurred either.

True. She probably got instant locs. Which is basically a method that literally is a loc with your natural hair and your hair locs super fast with instant loc method. Especially spraying with a rose water or salt water.

People don’t like being lied to. 1. There is no product that is going to take your hair from a pixie cut to Bob length that quickly. 2. Those are loc extensions. There is nothing wrong with that. Just be honest about it.

My mothers has had locs since I was little. I’ve never seen someone with faux locs wash their hair with four shampoos. Locs are supposed to be low maintenance. You don’t need all these products for locs. This isn’t a good loc routine at all. People that want to start locs I eager you to look for advice somewhere else. This is too much work for something so simple .

I think that IS her hair. Hair grows at a rate of 6 inches per year and when its locked, it grows even faster. She said shes been locked for a year so this length is definitely possible!

@@SuperToocool4skool I think they’re talking about the part where she said she went from buzz cut to bob length hair in 6 months. The picture that they showed was definitely with extensions. 6 months is only enough time to grow about 3 inches. Maybe 6 tops if she gets an inch a month (which isn’t common) her bob would be much shorter than what was shown.

Whoever allowed her to do this segment should be fired. It is highly offensive to anyone with natural hair to watch someone with OBVIOUSLY fake hair insist that it is natural. It isn't that serious to lie about it. Using 4 different shampoos in one washing is absolute murder on natural hair, which is probably why she can do it because she is taking care of fake hair. It's just disappointing to see.

we gone act like REAL locs dont take months(sumtimes a year) to mature and they also shrink alottt before they actually show growth💯 i usually see ppl with shoulder length hair by 2-2.5years

these are wrap locs, a form of loc extensions...interesting. I agree with getting someone with natural locs or even traditional loc extensions to fully showcase the beauty of locs. As someone who has started their loc journey with loc extensions, you will definitely be raffling a lot of feathers having someone with wrap locs of all types of locs being a rep for the diaspora. Overall it is nice to see more of mainstream embracing locs

Everyone's loc routine is different but this process made me cringe. To wash once a week with 5 different products... Less is definitely more for a loc care routine to prevent build up!

I started my locs on LONG natural hair and I’m 6 months in… theres literally no way she got fully matured locs and length in 6 months .. especially given the fact she has soft hair which I do as well and it’s a process.. they even look fake.. i don’t see why ppl lie

All she said was that she STARTED her locs 6 months ago. She never said that her locs were authentic. If they were installed 6 months ago, then technically, she STARTED them around that time. Unless she said that she started "GROWING her locs" around that time, I don't see how she's lying. I swear, our race is NOTORIOUS for finding problems with each other where there aren't any when an individual feels threatened or insecure..... and don't bother replying, cuz I ain't reading it.

@@kea1018 she used extensions of some material. They are added fake hair locks. It’s obvious to the locked community. Someone with her hair texture will not have locks as quickly as she did. It takes much time to cultivate

I have always loved Eva's style but not her personality. She said that's all her hair but that's not true. Maybe four inches but the rest is extensions using the wrap method. If she had it done by crochet method she would have got away with it. She should have kept her mouth shut about that's all her hair 🙄

@@incokneegrow2880 I have locs myself and do locs. If you look at the length of her hair you can see hair has been wrapped. I have done the wrap method for extensions and the crochet method. The wrap method looks fake and is easier to do but they look just like faux locs. The crotchet method is time consuming and harder on your fingers but they look real and it's hard to tell. With her money and her celebrity status I'm not sure why she didn't use the crotchet method if she was going to claim they are real. I guess she wanted the curly ends "the Lisa Bonet look". Not many loc stylist are doing crochet with curly ends. Granted the crotchet method is pricier too but I'm sure she can afford it. Plus she is only shoulder length so it shouldn't be that expensive. Loc extensions are also charged by the length you want. The longer they are the more expensive including how many you get.

Thank you! I am sooo glad someone said this! Her locs appeared that length out of nowhere a couple years ago. And as someone who started locs on almost waist length hair myself...it dont work that way.

This is stressful to watch... idk if I’m going to be able to finish. Super annoying. Keeping reiterating “being a black girl”, “you know us black girls.” 🙄 I follow her on Instagram these are not homegrown. Her hair wouldn’t have loc’d that fast or at all with this kind of routine if they were natural. Lastly all these damn products... extremely unnecessary. She’s still learning.

Edit: she took the ends off. Those locs are not organic...not up for debate. The roots are natural. Anywho I love her locs.

I’m an Loctician and those are definitely loc extensions by Nappstar. I’ve seen their work many times and that’s their signature, wraparound then crochet method.

But girl...don't lie those r loc extensions and it's okay we still appreciate u choosing a hairstyle that is natural n low maintenance and defines beauty. But keep it real.
