tho i have no idea what the ensemble is singing during the kiss, i wish they didn’t cut it out. it sounds so full and when i saw it other than like two screams bc of ofc the action, it felt like nothing else was going on. love this show soooo much tho

I’m not going to judge the whole show based on this one song. Cause I think this is a good song. However. I cannot lie and say I’m not slightly disappointed by the fact it’s not stylistically in the vain of a show like Anything Goes or other shows of that period. But it’s got potential. Just hoping they do my boy Nick justice. He’s a great character

I feel that. I watched the other two songs they previewed and the one felt more jazzy and true to the 1920s era. I think this song is great for this moment in the text because it’s the moment Gatsby and Daisy come together and really show their vulnerability to the audience through this interaction for the first time so a ballad really captures the emotions of the scene
