So much more understanding and insight to gain here, of the sort that is so often usefull in not directly related issues

I totally agree with your comments. I have been using 1 Gig ohm resistor in our design and sometimes people think it's crazy. Don't afraid of a large value resistor if you really need it.

Another great video, but I thought you were going to explain why these high voltage probes are so bloody expensive when they are just a resistor network... ;-)

The devil is in the details, HF compensation of this probes is not easy, and there are construction details related to the distribution of the high voltage electric fields. Also, typical helical high voltage resistors with ceramic substrate are sensitive to magnetic fields and special construction is needed to avoid these.

Dear Sam, 1. Is it only one leg of the filter analyzed, as at 2:00 both the scope and the generator are marked as grounded shorting the lower part of the pcb? 2. How does the C181 of 50pF come into play? Is it a part of the design or a capacitance between the shield and the shunt of the divider? 3. The math does the job, but I'm wondering how in practice the parallel capacitance of a single SMD resistor could possibly be 70pF? Kind Regards!

1. Yes it is connected between the two "grounds" but the intersting point that it has a profound effect. 2. This is supposed to represent shield to ground capacitance. 3. AS explained video, this is not the realistic value but represent other effects e.g. capacitance between the first and last resistor.

Thanks Sam! Could you please explain the workings of those bench power supplies? How to make current and voltage limit, CC and CV, i am trying to make my own power supply and i got stuck with regulation, i am using mosfets for voltage and current control, current control is setup up as current sink.

This is normally done by a clamp on the error amplifier that is fed by an OR connection of the two signals.
