This is a perfect portrait of that utter sense of isolation you feel when you're deep in the throes of depression. I now recognize how important it was to teenage me to have this song show me I wasn't alone out there in the darkness. Thankfully, now that I'm on the other side of it, I can tell that people were indeed missing me. They cared all along and I'm happy to be able to see it again.

@jeffj5083 жыл бұрын
@@AllisonChains64 Fair point but what are the chances that an official song would be 'missing' from the group's official channel. This is contrary to what one expects and therefore ironical. Moreover, the song is titled 'Missing' and the use of irony is suited because it also produces a desired humorous effect by playing on the song's title.

I first listened to this song back in 2004 when it came on the radio at like 2 AM. I was 13 at that time. I had no way to know that 3 years later, I would enter the worst phase of my life. Got bullied to hell at school, fell into a deep depression and hid it from my parents because my mom had just got out of one and I didn’t want to be a burden to anyone. I cried myself to sleep many nights, and I played this song to death. Felt cathartic. My grades got worse, but still manageable. Then entered an abusive relationship where I foolishly stayed for almost 7 years. EV3 was released on the day my mom went to the hospital with her first big epileptic crisis, only one day after my brother’s birthday. Today, In 2017 I was diagnosed with an incurable disease that threw me again to that dark place filled with suicidal tendencies. Today, I’m listening to “Better Without You” and “Part of Me”, never forgetting about how “Missing” will always touch me in ways unimaginable. “Not on your life; I'm not abandoning - I have survived. Somehow still standing through death and through time. I need your love like a drug keeping me alive. Drown me in your blinding light I will be more than my survival; Own these scars on my heart.” I’m also going to my first ever Evanescence concert once the pandemic allows. Already bought the ticket!

I have so many memories with this beautiful song, things that I didn't understand back then but listening to Evanescence helped me go through difficult times. Now that I grew and I understand better I can say that I'll be Evanescence fan forever, I'll teach my future children good music. 🎶 ♥

This song touches me so deep, it reminds me my horrible days as a bullied teenager. It's still beautiful though

One of the best by Amy Lee. One of the most sentimental song I've come across. It could run a lover wild. Thanks

My youngest daughter has been missing for 2 and 1/2 years. This song answers the ache in my heart. It is so hard to listen to sometimes. I love her so much. She has made choices that have taken her down a dark path and I cannot fix it for her. Love this song!

If Evanescence were a pharmacy ,Amy would be the Chief Pharmacist and each song an antidepressant pill.💗

Viejos recuerdos de mi adolescencia, sin lugar a duda esta canción representa la cúspide en la que evanescence estuvo.
