You have no idea how true that is. I met her in person once. After a show, for just barely 20 seconds, while surrounded by a hundred other fans, and she looked me right in the eye when I called to her quietly (I'll admit I was scared shitless). When I told her that her music saved my life after my mother died, stopped me from killing myself out of grief, she dropped the stock smile she had for everyone, got this genuine grin on her face and said, "I'm glad you're better." Then she hugged me.

Great interview. She's such a gem, very chilled and down to earth.

I love how genuine she is. She's so real and forward about things. So few musicians write their own music, and the fact that she writes it, that it comes from her heart, and that it actually sounds good is a killer combination!

She is such a beautiful person I really have a lot if respect for her.

You were at the acoustic show they did for EMI? Oh my God, that's one of their best live shows! You were so, so lucky! :D I've watched that probably a dozen times, all they way through. Her voice sounded tired, but she was still able to just kill the set. So passionate, for each one, with perfect vocal control (something she didn't really have when she was younger). You should totally upload your video! I want to see your time with Amy. :)

I barely had my arms around her when the venue security guy standing next to her got his hand on my biceps and tried to peel me off. Amy felt the resistance and just squeezed me tighter. When we parted, I kissed her on the cheek, which earned a giggle from her (and some blushing, even!) and a grin and a wink from her husband (who was standing right next to me). She is by far the most genuine, kind, open celebrity I have ever met or heard of. God bless Amy Lee. :)
