My school marching band used to use black maxes because our colors are black and orange. I think it looked a lot better than the System Blue with design but system blues just sound so much better

My school actually switched from black maxes to evans hybrids and they sound miles better

My old school started using black max heads and I think they look cool but when I played them for the first time, to me at least, it felt like they lacked a lot of rebound and I wasn’t used to that.

@@bongsensoni bought both of the heads and mines doesn’t sound like that. I have a yamaha 8014 marching snare drum!

@@jaydenlane2909 In that case, maybe it’s because of the tuning bro. If you want more snare sound, make sure the bottom heads aren’t too tight to resonate. But not too loose as well.
